I think you are missing the point here, we are all talking about getting someone younger than 30, say in mid 20's or early 20's to replace Guti, who is over 30. So, if we are gonna go for Marcelinho (32), don't you think it defeat the purpose?? I mean in 2 years we are gonna have to look for a replacement for him as well. Nobody is saying Marcelinho is not talented but right now age is a factor. Its the same reason I wouldn't wanna see Ballack in Real, what's the point?? Ballack is over 30 as well. You get it????

    Lol I think he gets it:D .

Anyway, the foundations of this team are built so in the next years we wont need to bring so much players. For next season we need three: one CB to replace Canna ( probably off to Italy ), one Cm to replace Guti ( Diego, Cesc, Nasri..) and one striker to replace Rvn ( Huntelaar pleeease :)) and that is it. In two years time when Raul is probably going to warm the bench we'll move Higuain to SS position and buy one true RW ( C. Ronaldo ). Yes i think that's all folks :D.

About the midfield, how's Granero doing on loan ? I thought he was suspended for one game or so, but after that how were his performances ?!

    Concerning the rumours about Diego:

He just signed a new contract at Werder until 2011 today. The old one was running 'til 2010.

No matter who we buy, Guti will fight for his place in this team. He has done so for years and i am 100% sure that he won't give up now that he is near the end of his career.

People got crazy about Diego after the Werder match, i could say alot of stuff about his performance that night but you better read Madrid_1902's post. He summed it up pretty well.

    That's true.

Besides that, Guti - Sneijder works quite well now, and should stand as long as it works. There might be a potential Sneijder - Drenthe combination in the future, with Drenthe doing Guti's work due to his experience as a defender.

    I totally agree.
A player of Drenthes talent, skill and speed shouldn't be limited on the wings.

I think this is a good summation..This is what I was thinking we'll need going forward, but who knows what can happen from now until the end of the season. I really want to see us with a true RW.

Yeah, I agree too...sounds like a good pairing:

    -----Diarra--------
    ------------Drenthe
    ----Sneijder--------

Drenthe should be an integral part of this team next season

The guy who has seen two games of Diego? Wow... it's impressive to see how many ppl wanna write something about Diego although they don't have a clue. Diego isn't up for sale though, but if you wanna get an impression of a player you've to see more than just two or five games. ;)
Don't get me wrong, it's nice to see that you're discussing about Diego. But some comments are just wrong, e.g. "Diego plays as good as he does because he has 3 guys sweeping up in midfield behind him.THREE players to intercept, tackle & clean up." OMG Bremen playing with three players in midfield behind Diego. Ouch, that's just a wrong information.

Inform us then , no need to come in here all angry and ready to knock a few people.. Join the conversation, give your views & and why you think others are wrong.
My whole point was that with Sneijder playing the AMC role for us, Diego wouldn't fit in, and to get the best out of Diego he has to be played as the main piece of the team.
A player more like Cesc would help get the best out of himself and Sneijder more than a combo of Diego & Sneijder. That's unless you want to place Wesley on the wings, which I think would be the wrong thing to do.

All I know is that he can play both a left-winger and attacking midfielder. He seems impressive given the fact that despite being only 20, he already has 3 caps and a goal for France.

Let's see how well he does for Marseille in the CL this season.

Two games? Where do you get your info dude?

Diego was nothing special that night. As i said, read Madrid_1902's post for a brief summary of Diegos performance that night.

    Did i say Diego Sucks?
    NO

Did i say that Diego didn't play THAT well against RM?
    YES

Now get out of our board.

How the hell did I forget about Nasri?? That kid is a good prospect too. And I think Real has shown some interest in him. He is young and he can be slowly conditioned into Real's system while Guti slowly bows out. I actually like the Nasri idea better than getting Diego or any other names we mentioned. As many mentioned that Guti Sneijder combo is working fine, so its logical to carry on with it. Guti, being a mid in his 30's now will slow down with time, so Nasri can slowly take over Guti's role, I like that plan. I also like the fact that we have a good core to build on now and instead of splashing out cash and buying players we can go for players to replace some of the guys that are going to be on their way out of the team or the game itself.

Because Marseille is getting their *** whooped quite often this season so far.
When Marseille qualified for the CL the Nasri/Ribery hype was huge, if Marseille is dumped out of the CL and is on the UEFA places next year, both hype and price of the player will go down.

    What an asshole...
Aguero is not the best we have, he only had one worthy performance and that was against us that does not he hsould go for him. Seem him last year, if you did you would realise how much of a "young star" he is.

    I say David Villa.

I think next year we will get the following:

1)Cesc Fabregas if not then Samir Nasri
    2) C.Ronaldo (It depends on how shit season they have) if not renato augosto or Ezequiel Lavezzi.
    3) Huntelarr (Cant think of anyone better) or D.Drogba.

I think another LB would be nice like A.Cole but otherwise we are pretty much stocked.

I also hope, we don't waste a month or so, in doing some celebration and we actually get all our targets so we can continue gelling the new signings.

LMAO! let me break down your post and show how much you lack education, ready?

obviously you dont own cable or a tv because you didnt see the under 20 world cup which he had a stunning performance.

yes i did 'seem' him last year and he was decent considering i think he was 18-19 that year.the kid has talent its only the team he's in is crap look at fernando torres now at liverpool he is performing much better they need a better coach to develop aguero.

also the bit about 'young star' had nothing to do with the player me and him had a disagreement about him so thats why i said dont hurt me as a joke

so next time you go insulting people like a 10 year old you should actually read and understand what people write and think about what you are going to say be a big boy.

    on another subject
Raven3k lavezzi is the napoli player who likens himself to tevez i think?
