I have been listening to Christopher Sullivan drop ridiculous spanish metaphors in a really poor gringo accent for maybe too long now. I think Chris is a great person/human being, but I simply want to poll the public to see if they find this annoying or if they think it is muy excelente.
Don't know who that is but I don't like that commentators in the United States don't even make an effort to pronounce people's names right. Like, no one on ESPN can say "Cuauhtemoc" correctly. It sounds so bad. Sheevass is another one.
I freakin' hate it.... Whats the point of throwing a few spanish phrases in your commentary??? It throws off the flow of what Christopher is saying...It actually stops me from listening..... Personally I dont like the way he talks with his hands... too much gesturing.... Simon Allen World Soccer Wrap PS...I listen to Spanish broadcasts of soccer all the time...and I honestly have picked up a bit of Spanish...but Christopher Sullivan is on English language broadcast...so he should speak English.... On the other hand... maybe we can get that Irish dude to throw in some Gaelic and really confuse the viewer
Confucius say....get the pickle out of your ass. The language of soccer in the Americas is indeed Spanish. Even the Brazilians are known to speak 'Portunol' when interviewed by the media hordes during Copa Libertadores or WCQ matches. If the Brazilans, the Kings, can be moved to drop a few words outside their own language into their conversation I would like to believe that Sully can be permited the same option without anyone gettin' in a twist about it.
It's annoying. But why should this surprise you? Chris Sullivan uses phrases and words in ENGLISH that make no sense at all as well. Hell, most people trying to learn English from listening to Sullivan would have a hard time. The guy simply is an annoying announcer, all the way around.
