Did Fox Football Fone-in steal Questions from Champions Soccer Radio?

I really try not to start anything negative and at the same time I hope that our league will be talked about in the mainstream in Sports News on all forms of communications like the news papers, Sports Radio Stations, etc., etc., etc.,

But listening to this past Tuesday afternoons Around the League in 90 Minutes on the Champions Soccer Radio Network Gary "Gazza" Richards & Peter Brown had FC Dallas coach Steve Morrow on at 1:10PM. Surprisingly Steve Cohen and Nick Webster had Steve Morrow on their show. I can swear they were the same questions used from Champions Soccer Radio show used by these guys.

Word for word. I really think Cohen & Webster actually listened to the show, and stole all the questions and used them for their interview with Morrow on Fox Football Fone in.

If these guys are suppose to be the best, why are they stealing from CSRN? I have said before to you guys that CSRN are the only people who truely wanted to support MLS & US Soccer and are continuing to help the sport grow. If doing a two hour show on MLS and trying to create individual club shows for all MLS clubs isn't enough for you guys, then I honestly don't know what is.

World Soccer Daily really got into MLS when Beckham arrived and they are being plastic all the way.

I hate plastic supporters and I hate cheaters and thievs as well.

All I know is that Nick Webster is an MLS supporter and a DC United fan so that's alright by me. Did you notice he wore a DC United jersey last night?

Well since most United fans are glory hunters like yourself it come as no shock a fly by night MLS fan like Webster picked them. He's a Man U fan after all, so he can't help it.

I've been in Jersey since Monday evening, and I've yet to see a single article of RBNY merchandise or marketing.

I'm not a regular viewer, but while going through the channels I noticed the DC United jersey on him. It made me sick to my stomach and I'm a DCU fan. I'm not a fan of the show or their "support" and minimal coverage of MLS. Obviously, they are Eurosnobs;) who know little about Major League Soccer. I turned back to FSC a few times to see if he would explain himself for wearing the DCU jersey, all the time hoping it was some cruel joke. I'd rather have Tim Lovejoy like United because our mascot's name is Talon than have one of the FFF guys pretending to be a DCU fan.

The show is sponsored by Eurosport and World Soccer Shop.com. They wear different jerseys/T-shirts each week. Doesn't mean they support them. Last week, Webster was wearing a Barca strip. Cohen is definitely a Chelsea supporter.

First off, a Eurosnob is an American soccer fan who snubs MLS. Steve and Nick are native Brits, so by definition they can't be Eurosnobs. You can't blame Brits for being fans of the EPL, and for that matter you can't blame any soccer fans for being fans of the EPL, because it's maybe the best league in the world, or one of the top three.

Secondly, they've had many good things to say about MLS, which a Eurosnob would never do. And they spend a great deal of time discussing MLS on their show. Just because they don't lead with it, and dominate the whole discussion with it, doesn't mean they aren't friends of MLS.

To shed the snob label doesn't mean to snub everything else but MLS. It just means to not snub MLS. Anyways, with the time difference, it's very easy to follow both.

Even if your assertions were true (they're not) then can you explain why DC United and Chivas are continuously the LEAST popular clubs among viewers of David Beckham's Soccer USA. YOu'd think all the glory hunters in the UK would have jumped on board.....

DC United is no more or less supported by "glory hunters" than people who just know quality soccer when they see it.

You're honestly making decisions/assertions based on an Internet poll results?

Neither condemning nor condoning. He's a fan of DC United so he must have some sense and gets a pass for any indiscretions.

I knew they wore different shirts provided by their sponsors every week. They normally have some reasoning behind the shirt and they explain it some.
    ...
Thanks for the definition of eurosnob. I didn't realize the hosts of the show were native Brits. There is only one league in the world that plays the beautiful game like it is supposed to be played and that is the EPL. It is the top league in the world. I'm just glad they have time to dedicate a couple of seconds to MLS before their original, exclusive interview with Steve Morrow. It is very obvious that Fox Football Fone-in does not snub MLS. Steve and Nick actually respect the league some this season, now that Beckham has joined the Galaxy. They have even attended matches, something they wouldn't/hated to do in the past.
//Can you tell which parts of that were me bing a facetious bamma? I didn't use smilies.
//Why does BigSoccer even have smilies?

Most of those blokes are fly by night MLS fans...most....
On the other hand....I will stand by Jade1MLS.... A passionate DCU fan if ever there was one... Dont care if you picked DC cos they were winning all the time...as long as you stuck by em even during the " lame-Geordie Manager times!!" and youre still a fan...that goes for anyone that is passionate about there club...
GIO17...I think they did steal a few things...but...I think the other dudes probably find it flattering... I would!!!

Do you think he was a Revs supporter his whole life before he became a DC United supporter?

    You know, like you?

All I'm saying is that when it comes to covering the MLS, US Open Cup & US Soccer. The better side is Champions Soccer Radio Network. Cohen & Gerber (who isn't there anymore) only jumped back in when Beckham came. I'm not picking on Nick Webster, just because he is wearing a DC Shirt. I think he is following Cohen's bad traits. I want a legit announcer to truly follow MLS & US Soccer.

If I'm picking on Nick Webster because his is wearing a DC jersey Jade, your flat out wrong. I want brains behind that shirt if he really does follow MLS. But since he is with Cohen, I'm afraid he might be led down the wrong path.

You guys are something else, you bash them for ignoring MLS, then when they do acknowledge it, they're glory hunters. So since they were'nt MLS fan from the start they should just ignore it all together, becuase they're not "real" MLS fans.

I agree....with you 100%... I have to say though...I'd like to think that Ray-Ray and Simon Allen are the two most ligit announcers in podcast-land... but Im a bit biased...:)
Listen to the way both these parties talk about MLS... one duo has alot of passion for MLS...the other duo does not...
Personally speaking....The listener can tell if youre faking it...you have to be true to soccer....

So do they have to get a greencard or full citizenship before they qualify as Eurosnobs? Or is Eurosnobbery only gained as a birthright of those who are born in the U.S.? You know, real Americans.

Webster honestly likes MLS and knows the league.

Cohen, on the other hand, does not like MLS, period. You might think he enjoys it if you tune in to the Tuesday night Fox Football Fone-In, but on his radio show he sings a completely different tune. Obviously, he does this because if he ripped American soccer on TV he would find people tuning out. He finds the whole league boring and pointless and would just as soon talk about Chelsea for two hours.

His radio show should be changed from "World Soccer Daily" to "Chelsea Soccer Daily".

By the way, Chelsea, for the amount of money they have spent the past few years, is the dullest team I have ever seen in my life.

I agree completely. I worry Cohen's negativity about everything will rub off on Webster. Geber left to do Poker stuff but would you want to spend THAT much time with Cohen.

Whatever happend to the "Steven Cohen is a Knob" thread in the Media Forum?

I'm gonna guess DC has more glory hunters than RSL. Because in order to attract glory hunters, you have to have, ya know, glory.

You're still pointing out something based on an Internet poll. And the very definition of glory hunter is someone that has said "I have been a Revs supporter my whole life" yet has "DC United for life!" as their club.
