Just watched the video replay of the game knowing that Blainehammer, Claret, Theresa etc were in the crowd. After we scored the camera went to the crowd celebrating. In the stand was this very distinguished looking man with a large halo all around his head. He waved to me, i'm sure he did. Everything around him was in darkness, so i couldn't spot Claret or Theresa.
You've got good eyesight scout, Blaine was sitting next to me, along with Theresa, her Toffee man & my Son-In-Law, we had a brilliant view of the entire ground (thanks to T) who arranged the tickets for us, and were sat in the last row at the back of the DM upper, after a liquid lunch of 4 pints of Adnams best in the Black Lion, we strolled to the ground, we then met northbankbar & skaff, (from the old soccernet site) outside the Black Lion after the game. A fantastic day out, and a bloody great result. C'mon you Irons!!!!!
It was brilliant meeting up with a few on here, but you're forgetting NewOrleansHammer Claret, we met him briefly in the Black Lion after he introduced himself (must've been Blaine's halo that tipped him off it was us!) A superb day, tho' they had us a bit worried after the first half, beautiful sunshine, a few beers in the rub-a-dub, three points for the Cockney Boys, but best bit of all I MET GOD, WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Teacher. What are you doing Sarah? Sarah. I am drawing a picture of God. Teacher. But nobody knows what God looks like. Sarah. They will in a minute. (maybe it was really Blaine)
You are all forgetting ....... I used to be a god once. Now I only have the god like looks to remind me!!!!!!!!!
Back in NO now. What a weekend!!!! Sorry I didn't have time to chat longer on Saturday but it was really nice to meet you lot. I was planning on going back to the pub after but got stuck spending a fortune in the store and when we finally got out the players were starting to leave, so I got to meet the Egg-man, LBM, Lucus and the Prince of UP Markey Noble, even got a picture with him. Talking of the Egg, we were about 6 rows behind him and I found myself watching his reactions as much as the match. COME ON YOU IRONS!!!
Fantastic NOH, definitely worth missing the pub for And yes, please post some pics, if I'd had my photo taken with the Prince of UP (like that!), I'd have to show it off
Its a shame I missed the prematch drink at the pub but I've been away so long I forgot about the unpredictability of London Transport on the weekend. Glad to meet T and Claret on the street at least to say hello - maybe next time I'll organise myself better. A couple of mates and I spent a very enjoyable hour or two with Skaff and his wife at the Black Lion though - it's a great matchday pub, especially in the garden when the sun's out. I do miss London sometimes... Can't believe I missed my chance to meet God!
For those of you who doubt the existence of God, this photo was taken last September, it's actually blainehammer, but it's near enough!
