This "great moment" in Galaxy history really stands out in my mind. At the end of a season where we were last in the league in scoring, we implode and lose this playoff game. The heart of the team was gutted, Cienfuegos is done. Ironman, Cobi toughs it out and plays two more years of 1700+ minutes as age takes its toll. But what new star has been added to make the Galaxy great? Donovan came at the cost of Ruiz. Herc showed some passion in 2005 and helped us get the US Open cup and make the playoffs where Donovan wills us to the final. Where are the new stars? The guys who want to be the next great Galaxy players?

Another interesting stat that I have not heard before from other Galaxy Fans that needs to be pointed out is that assuming the Galaxy will NOT GO TO THE PLAYOFFS THIS SEASON (a good assumption), then Alexi Lalas WILL BE THE ONLY GALAXY GM IN THE TEAMS HISTORY TO NEVER MAKE THE PLAYOFFS..........HE WILL BE 0-2 and the rest of the GALAXY GM's ; Villaneuva, Del Prado, Hamiltion, Tim Luce ect....Has a record of 10-0 IN MAKING THE PLAYOFFS.....This should illustrate plainly How far the Galaxy has fallen in just 2 seasons of Alexi Lalas behind the control. In fact, I am not sure Alexi in his 3 stints as GM has ever had a team qualify for the playoffs.....

I was at the Chivas game last night at the HDC and was shocked at HOW BAD OUR TEAM LOOKED.....and HOW FAR WE HAVE DROPPED SINCE WINNING THE MLS CUP JUST 2 SEASONS AGO. CLEARLY THE GALAXY IS THE WORST TEAM IN THE LEAGUE NOW....It hurts me to admit this but, its true

THE Solution and Please listen to a fan who's been there from day 1....AT Season's end FIRE LALAS AND HIRE COBI AS GM/PRESIDENT AND GIVE HIM CONTROL OF Player Personnel and coaching decisions......THAT IS ALL THANKS

The fundamentals that were shown two years ago have gone down the drain. The preparation is lacking.

The Yallop defenders blame it on the "Beckham's circus", the schedule, the traveling, the injuries, national duties, blah blah blah.

I don't have a problem with LAG losing. I only have a problem with how bad we looked, how bad we played.3

Trust me when I say waching the Womens World Cup is 100 times more entertaining than watching LAG lately.

If you want to see how soccer is supposed to be played, just watch the WWC. Hey Frank Yallop, maybe you learn a thing or two.

Sorry to bring this back from the dead, but I have to disagree. These guys are getting paid to play a game (albeit some are not making a lot). If they are not enthused about that, maybe getting a regular job like everyone else might get them pumped about playing soccer again. I don't care if they are in last place, they should be leaving their hearts out on the field every time they play. If they can't do that, find someone who will. I'm sure there are lots of regular people in LA that would love to play for the Galaxy, EVEN if they were in last place and for less money than they are making. As a paying fan I find this inexcusable and ask... nay DEMAND more from my team. Not saying we have to win every game (Than I'd have nothing to complain about), just saying that even when we lose, we should still play with heart and guts

I understand that the players are not automatons. They are regular people like us, with the same emotions and fears. But still... is a little more effort from our team, too much to ask for?

PS:My friends think it's all Yallop's fault. Resist as I may, I'm starting to believe them

Good point, I do believe that if Frank wants to keep his job, he better win all games starting from today Sunday. I think losing at Superliga was a setback and land of not return for Yallop. I think winning LA Super Liga would have actually contribute to keep his ass in LA for one more season. As of now, no one is bying his story. He will not return next year.

I totally agree. Despite all the mitigating factors and the "perfect storm" of the season, I believe the coach has to be primarily judged on his tactics. Frankly, Frank's tactics have been often puzzling, questionable at best and quite often disasterous. I'll name two easy examples among a multitude. Xavier's move to midfield during the second half of critical game that effectively eliminated our defense and the failure to sub an obviously spent and injured beckham after his famous bicontinental travel show. What does the peanut gallery think of Yallop's tactics this season?

Losing today against Houston will put LA Galaxy in the verge of total embarrassment. Now the big question is, will Yallop finish the season as the coach?. He could actually start packing his suitcase, it's a matter of days.

I want Yallop to go as well.... Talked about it on the show tonight.... But the big question really is... If he goes..who does the Galaxy replace him with??
I can no longer take any arguements in favor of Yallop...Yes...he's had a less than awesome team to deal with, yes he's had injuries to his star players, yes he's had a bunch of media pressure placed on him....But thats no excuse... Take Steve Coppell at Reading... almost the same situation with him last season in the EPL..yet her kept them up and almost got them playing in Europe...
Apart from Klinnsman, Stoichkov (theres room for arguement here) and possibly getting back Sigi...I can't think of anyone that can take the reigns of the Galaxy and getting them back to their winning ways in a timely manner.... Let me know...
All in all... Yallop's gotta go...and soon!!

Hopefully, it's more like a matter of hours. And La-Loss has got to go, too.

Too much. I'm done. Fire him. Fire Lalas. Fire every player thats brain tell him to go into "urgency mode" 85 minutes into the game. Fire every player, who despite the consequences, isn't sweating into the shirt for 90 minutes. Hey Buddle! RUN!

Would you guys be opposed if the Galaxy waits out the remainder of the year and go after Martin Jol after he gets canned from Tottenham. The last two years he managed well at White Heart Lane though this year he has left some more to be desired with the squad they assembled.

Why would we want Sigi back? I don't get that at all.

He's had plenty of time (and talent) to get the Crew to the playoffs through the years....and it still ain't happening. They're in a swoon dive yet again right now, aren't they?

I kind of like Jol, but I don't think we've yet to see a top European coach show real interest in MLS yet. Maybe I'm wrong, but I haven't heard of any real hard contract discussions with coaches from the Premiership or La Liga, etc.

I'm sure the smack on Spurs not being a major club is on deck (I don't support Spurs..or Arsenal for that matter). But their budget dwarfs an MLS side I'm sure. (am I...?)

Klinsmann doesn't count because he lives in LA. And I'm not talking about the US Men's Team. I'd like to think they have been in discussions with some bigger names, although I don't know that for sure either.

Anyway -- point is, Beckham's here. Blanco's here. Angel's here. So we're getting higher tier players (not on their last legs). But I'm not sure the coaches are lining up yet.

I mean, what is the salary disparity between Europe and here anyway? I may not want to know the answer to that . . .

Since Bravo got "promoted", I'm wondering if John Spencer (Houston assistant coach, AEG employee and former Rapid) might be the most likely coach to replace Yallop. I recall him taunting LARS after scoring a game winner at the Rose Bowl one time. He's got some fire.....

At this time even Octavio Zambrano is a better posibility. However, i think that John Spencer can be a very good posibitity. Its not easy to coach a super club, too much camaras, fame, hollywood, movie stars, celebrities; they are all over you.

I know Jol is a long shot but it will be nice for him to get a fresh start. Klinsmann is linked with the Spurs job along with other some other coaches, like Capello, so it sounds like Klinsmann coming to the Galaxy is a long shot. Anyways, Klinsmann want to coach a CL team like Chelsea.
