Just seen the reply. Ty Hardens confidence is being destroyed this season, and its sad. He is or almost was a promising player, with a lot of natural talent, but those kind of mistakes are for Sunday League Pub teams, and Under 12's. Shocking. Mr Yallop please have your resignation letter on the FO desk Monday morning.
According to the commentators this evening, all the problems Galaxy is having this season is NOT the fault of the coaching staff.... ????
Well, thank god Brian Ching can't finish his dinner or we would be 4-1 down. Where can I get good odds on FY getting fired this week?
How about a fan just toss him a white flag and he can wave it right there on the pitch after tonight's game! I love when they show him on the bench and he has that same look like this guy:
it was looking ok at the half, then the kid gives up the PK seconds into the complimentary. that was infuriating to say the least. anything Yallop might have said to his players during the break gets tossed out the window!
I always signed up to the idea of giving a new coach as much time as possible to work with the players, but this team is not going to improve, and I've never seen a coach less interested. Sat on the bench when his team is losing 3-1? Its shocking and almost an insult to the paying fans.
At risk of offending Republicans, at least he knows how to attack. Defense isn't his strong point either though.
Enjoy the last minutes of the season. No point after this one. Time to take it all in. However, lalas tells me next year will be perfect.
News Flash -- hope runs out on season. Well, really it has done some time ago. Not just our hope as fans, but the players, staff, etc. Why bring this up? Because this shit happens in pro sports, teams tank sometimes and whole seasons go astray. We haven't seen the Galaxy so lame as they are now but anyone who follows other sports has seen a season (or worse -- their postseason) fall apart, it happens a lot and that's part of sports. I know everyone will call for Yallop & Lalas to be out, but I personally think the best thing this team can do is have a good offseason in prep for next year. THAT, and get a striker.
Okay, has anyone noticed that, when Galaxy is behind, usually by one, in the second half between the 60-70th minute, they just seem to fall apart...? Like any adversity just defeats them. How bad does Randolph feel tonight? Poor guy...not bad playing, just bad judgment there.
What the hell were the commentators talking about "Vagenas did was he was supposed to tonight"?...Are they watching this game?
There is hope; Leeds end of last season. Pld 7 won 1 drawn 1 lost 5 this season Pld 6 Won 6 d 0 l 0 gls 14 against 3 That is that for this season, but there is a major rebuilding job to do, and while I think Frank Yallop is a good coach it just isn't working out at LA. Sad but true, but we'll be back next season.
Just saw the replay on the penalty. It definetly was. What the hell was he thinking just grabbing him to the ground like that INSIDE the box? Now we need to win at least 6 games, tie 2, and hope Chicago Fire will lose 2 matches so we could have a chance at the playoffs.
Seemed a harsh decision to me. The referee seemed to get conned by a the Houston player staying up until he got into the box. It happens and they get given, but for a ridiculously petty referee tonight he should have given a free kick outside the area. Ty Hardens mistake for the third was partly down to Cannon not calling for it, but a terrible error of judgment. One of the first lessons I learned as a defender was "If in doubt, put it out" and its a cardinal sin to forget that, especially in your own penalty area with your back to goal.
So when do we start giving Cronin more minutes? How about that new U-17 kid we just picked up? what a season...
You're right. As Frank says (and I like this line): "We're ********ing knackered". It will probably get worse before it gets better. When things go this poorly, you can't come back in games, you can't put games away when you have the chance, and you can't find the extra gear when legs get heavy, and you can't do the simplest things well. At the pro level, the competition makes you look awful. I know that's not OK, and it has to improve. But I've endured seasons like this as a player and you can't sit and analyze every minute, every fault. It's true -- we're ********ed, for now. Better to understand that and move on than to micro every decision and every mistake.
And compare how Houston developed Cochrane and Ianni. Basically no games in their first year, then spots starts, then ready to go in their third year.
Okay, so it wasn't just me...I thought, too, that it was a harsh call. I think it's all that freaking orange they (Huston) wear that's messing with the refs minds... Watching Galaxy and Huston play tonight, I kept longing for an orange creamsicle.. (...followed by a stiff drink!)
Theres always one striker who does it. They make sure if there is shirt pulling or climbing that they only go down when the cross the white line. Works nearly every time.
