A tuff game against a team that is a mystery this season ... adding that out of the last 11 games at banfield, Boca has won 5, tied 1 and lost 5.

    The probable formation:

    Caranta
    Ibarra - Maidana - Paletta - Morel
    Ledesma - Battaglia - Datolo
    Gracian
    Palacio - Palermo

Banfield will be missing his striker Cvitanich, injured.

Hattrick by Palermo in the first half? Damn, seems like letting him take that PK the last match worked wonders :D.

    Final Boca 6 Banfield 0.

Russo felt some pity for Banfield and took Palermo out, after he scored four goals.

that's for all those who doubted Palermo.
didn't i tell you that pk against olimpo would help him a lot??

You know what else probably helped?? Seeing that Denis (11 goals in 9 games) is close to breaking his record (20 goals in 19 games).
    Just a thought

Wow, must be one the largest away victories in recent times by any Argentine team. Even when I dislike Palermo, he still shows that he's one the best when it comes to scoring goals.

    enganche=good footy.

Banega in for Battaglia and this is the best line-up Boca have. Hopefully Russo stops messing around and just plays that from now on. Nice to see Morel back at LB. Great cross for Palermo on the first goal.

Also Gracian was excellent. He's building a good understanding with Palacio and Palermo. His goal was brilliant.

    Here are the goals:

    No, no, no ...

    - When you are playing with 10 men.

    - When you are playing without an enganche to hold the ball.

    - When you don't see the ball and are back in your own box.

    - When you have players that are tall to help you defend.

    - And when Palermo is playing 30-40 yrds away from the opponents box ... without speed nor skill to affect positively ...

Then you take Palermo out and place someone else that is faster and that complement Rodrigo.

Palermo is the #9 for the team. It was more of an issue for Russo to read in Santa Fe, and less "el loco's".

As for today, Boca found the football it had been searching in the past weeks. With an enganche. With a HUGE Battaglia that had his best game at Boca since the Recopa games with Sao Paulo almost a year ago. Just in time for Wednesday.

With Palermo and Palacio with more support. And with the rest of the team up for the task. Boca could have peaked in this game, which is the perfect time to do so ... moreso knowing that Sao Paulo is next, with their 40 goals scored in 26 games and only 8 received; beating their archrivals Santos 2x1 with subs. An awesome tie to watch and keep cheering for.

    Bring it on!

so many brasilians where i live say that boca would have lost the finals of the Copa Libertadores if they had faced Sao Paolo instead of Santos. Time to shut them up!
