The top 5 African footballing nations would probably be the Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Ghana, Nigeria and Mali, in that order.

i guess for some reason everybody is jealous of Ghanaian players. especially nigerians cuz they know we've won more nations cups than them and we've had better players. the TRUTH hurts.

the FIFA rankings is the most absurd rankings ever. i totally disagree with it. jus look at that list...Morocco and Egypt and even Senegal is not that good as they used to. Ghana has the best team in Africa right now jus for the simple fact that they play as a TEAM better than all the other teams. Done deal. I just hope they can add to the trophy collection at ANC '08. make it 5! To be honest Ivory Coast is the best African team right now, jus better than Ghana and Cameroon.

and yea by the way Abedi Pele was by far the best African player ever even though he failed to bring Ghana to the World Cup. they jus had problems in the dressing room!

What a joke this thread is.

J.J Okacha is/was one of the most skillful players anywhere on God's green earth, and is the most skillfull player birthed on the continent of Africa.

Are you CrAzy or something man...Ghana suck in football...jsut look how they lost to Iran 4-2 and they are very stupid when they get near the goal with only the keeper to beat....anyway we will see if Ghana are better than Morocco on 8th September...i doubt that

I concur, if you are talking about skill, the most skilled players out of Africa have to be Ghanian Abedi Pele and George Weah. if you didn`t watch these players in action too bad as both were extremely talented. I can say both were on the genius level and as we know both won the champions league for there clubs. Abedi Pele to be may be holds a slight advantage because of his versatility. As a play maker, i think his best position was attacking midfield but he could also flourish as a striker or right attacking mid or left. Him and weah are some of the most complete players in world football. Okocha is another one from Africa and may be Kanu during his Ajax days before the heart problems, Kalusha Bwalya, Eto, Roger mila was also very skilled, Omam Biyik, cyrille Makanaky, south african Doctor Khumalo was another highly skilled playmaker, Hossam Hassam was highly skilled but he never played in europe. drogba, tony yeboah,
