Hey guys, you probably dont know me, im new to bigsoccer forums & ill introduce myself. My names David. Im born in '89, Approx 6'0 (182Cm Tall) My Mother is from Pescara and my father from Caserta, and im a Napoli supporter. Im a very good soccer player, great pace, dribbling and shot. I prefer and attacking role, either wing or second striker. I feel that at my age its either make it or break it, and I want to try out for some southern Serie b or c teams. Possibly get into their youth system. The only problem is that I don't know how to contact the right people. Another problem is that im now located in Canada, although going back to Italy is not a problem as I have a home in Caserta. Would somebody help me and point me to the right direction
In my experience, you get scouted while playing for small local sides; I don't know how familiar you are with the entire European football system as a whole if you're Canadian... but most villages in Europe have a team and it is in some way part of the larger footballing pyramid, teams from bigger clubs send out scouts to check out the local talent. Then if you're good enough you get invited to a trial at the club, that is how it is usually done. I guess the other way could be writing a formal letter to a club (perhaps get your father to do it, or even a professional ie-your sports teacher at school)... for example if you're going to be living in Campania, on the site for Juve Stabia http://www.ssjuvestabia.it/home.asp it has a "contact" section with the address. But be aware that trials even for "smaller" teams are really, really tough... literally millions of people think they can cut it, but when it comes to the actual trials everybody tries so hard to shine that it ends up looking awful.
The way Pescara is heading you may be able to get into there. They are going broke, a system of youth players to keep costs down, etc, etc. If they go broke then Serie D. It wouldn't be bad playing for a former Serie A club
Yes it wouldnt be bad playing there at all as I have familly from my moms side there, also Casertana is in Serie D now, & Benevento is also an option.
i was in the same situation. And i was picked to play for Boville Ernica its in Frosinone they play in Eccelenza(under serie D) and i was selected for their first team. Im 18 years old aswell. I stayed almost 2 months, but when it came time to sign the contract I thought twice about it, and living their in a small town, by myself, I couldn't do it. You have to make sacrifices. If i was selected for a team in like Serie A or B then ya I would stay cuz your with the youth and your training every day. For me during the day no one was around, and and we have practise every night, so I couldn't even go out to have fun at night.
Oh man, you should have stuck with it. Once you've got your foot in the door, then anything could happen (moving up to bigger clubs, etc)... you don't get many chances in football it would seem. When I was younger, I got scouted by a team that were lower at the time so didn't take it seriously, messed around loads and got dropped out of it (now they're in The Championship)... then I was in the youths of a club, but their main team got relegated from the professional leagues, then went down even further and eventually closed. Accepting nothing but the top league probably isn't the right way to go about it, (could never happen) and cause you never know what could happen with the lower clubs.
You need to send a video tape to this address: Via S.S. Domitiana Km 35,300 - 81030 Castel Volturno (CE) ............... and prey. IF they watch it and IF you're actually good they may contact you. Good Luck.
Ditto ... especially if you weren't just looking for money. If you signed smaller contracts and played your ass off you could have been something.
