British tabloid The Sun is reporting ...

Man, it doesn't get any more official than that ... unless Corky's reporting it too.

I dropped the line right after the Metros played in KC, but no one really took notice, or at least responded.

Before the game (6/7) Bob Bradley was standing near the Cauldron and I spoke with him for about 5 minutes about a lot of things. Mostly about Howard, and Bradley said it was a done deal. That was over two weeks ago. He said as soon as the Confed Cup was over Howard would be gone.

Not a British tabloid, not socceramerica, not soccer365, but straight from the Metros coaches mouth.

Did he mention whether Timmy has received his Hungarian passport and approval from the British Home Office for a work permit? If not, it's not official. We're all aware of the deal.

It's on Sky Sports as well, with no mention of The Sun.

    Methinks it's done.

Quote - Howard, 24, has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for the last six months after impressing scouts in the NY-NJ league.

Yes, we're not exactly sure what counts as the "NY-NJ league", but I'm hoping that Hudson County gets an expansion franchise.

"Despite holding a Hungarian passport, Howard chose to play for the USA national side and will play in goal on Thursday night against Turkey in the Confederations Cup in France."

I don't know why I find that sentence funny but I do.

I guess the responsibility of a "Magic Magyars" renaissance was simply too much for the boy. :)

I thought the transfer window didn't open until July 1, so can Howard "sign" before then?

Well, clearly, if Howard is good enough for the Premiership, he can't be a real American. They can't play football, after all.

    Typical foreign attitude.

I DON'T find this attitude funny.

By the way, ThreeSixOne reports MetroStars will sign Barthez to replace Howard. ;)

    Paul who?

You'll be missing Howard if Bradley doesn't find a good replacement soon.

Correction: Typical Brit attitude. Let's settle it on the pitch, shall we? I think Foxboro was the last time we spanked Engerlund.
