These 4 teams played 1 less games (8) then the others (9).

Portugal still in a good position, wins vs poland and serbia in lisbon in september will put us in the drivers seat. it wont be easy but we will do it.

Folks...I am trying to understand why all the negativity...

Look at it this way...the team played like crap and managed an away draw. That is an excellent result.

Take solice in this...Armenia played their best game in history at home and still couldn't win.

Portugal on the other hand come home to seal the deal.

Bad pitch, players not in shape, bad officiating and we still get a draw...all in all not a bad day.:p

Disagree, we played brutal. Meireles and Tiago are crap I have no clue what the attraction is, well Tiago has his days but they are few and far between. Scolari's choice of Bruno Alves at the end was so damn dumb despite getting on a header that if it went anywhere near a net would of been a sure goal. Regardless we had better options left.

I cannot believe that we are going late into the qualification in a desperate situation. Spetember is now completely make or break for us.

p.s. Armenia is not a good side, they played hard and new how to use their field but Portugal beat themselves.

This game causes me to think up of a new statistic.

    WMOTM

Meireles was simply horrible, Simao took up space, that's about it.
Postiga maybe Jesualdo has a point, Deco, Tiago dimply disappointing.
Andrade looks like he had no pre-season slow, unresponsive. Ferreira allways looked out of position. Miguel was slugish, and Meira was the best along side Ricardo.

CR was too selfish, but managed to get us a point, so he gets my MOTM along side Meira. The subs should've stayed on the bench, they just had no motivation. Cigano is on his "ME" mission, and Nulo needs to play "matraquilhos", maybe Camacho can try him at CD now that DL is injured.

As for WMOTM, I say Meireles, I know tripeiros will come out and defend him "he never played the DM alone blah, blah, blah". Can't wait to see Veloso in there.
As for the pitch conditions, they were bad, but I think Armenia played on the same pitch, and for 40 min, they made us look silly. The ref was below par, but had no influence on the poor result. We just stunk up the place.

Oh wait I forgot to critic Scolari, "nao tem colhoes".

How do you say that in Brasilian? I know it's not "trem, or banco, etc..".

Nope, Meireles sucks, I'd rather have Veloso there, I'd rather have Moutinho instead of Tiago. Can you really blame CR for being selfish? we were hardly able to put 2 passes together.

What kind of sexual favors are Postiga and Meireles giving Scolari to still be on this team?

This NT is looking more and more pathetic the more I see them, tied some Kuwait club and tied today... I think this team has leadership issues. No Figo, No Costinha and no Pauleta...

    Wow...just finished watching the game.

Is anyone just a little nervous here? Because I am God Damn nervous. It seems Portugal has waited till the absolute last second....

Meireles needs to go. He made some decent plays, but Veloso needs a chance back there. Tiago....was Tiago.... Does anyone want to try Manuel Fernandes in Tiago's position and Veloso in the DM position? Anyone?

ahhh man this is nerve racking...

    Armenia....wow.....

simply shameful performance..honestly, probably the worst portuguese performance ever played under scolari.

and thats sayighn something as we have ahd some shitters.

Maniche, veloso, fernandes, Pepe need to be called.

hugo almeida and varela 100% certanites., ******** postiga and joao tomas right off.

we were absolutly shambles...ive enver seen such a crappy team in my life from portugal, that was purely disgusting.

i bet we will choke vs poland and serbia, just watch, we wont win both games.

Exactly, we have no one to take command on the pitch..nly carvalho is that pklayer and he was injured today.

figo should still be on the ntl team as sub of deco, hes still vital for inter as a free roaming attacking midfielder.

we need him back once more.

Figo killed our Defence in the Inter Manchester Game earlier this month, setting up two goals. He's still a great player even at his age can still do what younger players wish they could. I guess the only thing worse than him retiring while still good (ala now) is if he'd been forced out.

    wow, what an ashaming performance.
blaming the pitch for that is ridiculous. they even dind't show any kind of motivation. they didn't manage to set up 3 passes.
jorge andrade seemed to be like jabba the hut chasing a cheetah. midfield was not there and postiga sucked completely.
the only ones not playing complete crap were miguel, ricardo and meira.
pretty far way to reach a level where we can beat poland and serbia...
but i remember a match in 2005 i think where we drew vs liechtenstein and then burnt down the house at alvalade, vs. russia.

Portugal is still one my favorite NT after Armenia of course. Good luck in upcoming games, besides the return leg game. We'll see what your players will show to this "poor armenian side" on a GREATEST PITCH IN THE WORLD. :D

Yeah, you have a fantastic team... A team that has 8 points in qualifying, A fantastic team that has never made an international tournament. Do you really think anyone cares if you think Armenia is good? Do you think this is the first time we tie a shit team? We always do this don't come here and think Armenia is actually good. Maybe you should battle Kuwait for world supremacy because their fans think the same thing.

I guess you didn't get it WMOTM stands for Worst Man Of The Match, and we had a lot of candidates, but I picked Meireles.

    Guys..still too much negativity.

The cards were stacked against Portugal for this one.

    1. Playing on a shit pitch
    3. Playing against a very physical and motivated team
    4. Travel
    5. Players are in preseason form

As horrible as Portugal played they managed to get a point.

Keep your chins up, playing at home is a different story.

Are we going to keep making excuses? What happens if we lose to Poland on September 8th?

First of all, I didn't say Armenia has a fantastic team, second Armenia was part of USSR and saying that we never qualified is a bit unfair, there was a lot of Armenian players in USSR squad. I understand your arse is burning, but it doesn't give you any right or what so ever to call my team a shit team, before calling my team a shity team take a look at yours first on that specific game. So my advice to you go F***yourself, dickhead.

After we beat them and Belgium then we are going to be in top flight, so then you have to beat us ;) :D

I hope Portugal and Serbia will win the group.
