I guess Riquelme is not coming back. If that is the case, then it's great to get Gracian.

I wouldn't quite close the door just yet. The less something happens in Europe for Roman the more likely he'll end up back at BOCA. Remember he has the right of first refusal on any transfer and so long as that happens, Villa has to pay him regardless of his playing status. I'd still be content with Gracian but Gracian with Roman would be a bit better.

This is sad. Ledesma seems to be the only one who can score goals.

did anybody watch the game yesterday? From what I hear, it was another poor effort, even though they got the win.

I saw the game it wasnt a poor by any means, Pablo Ledesma getting hurt early hurt us because the ball seems to always find him at the right place at the right time. Urribarri had to be changed for Matías Cahais because he is too short Ledesma had to be change because he got alittle hurt by Alvaro R. González who played excellent and I hope to see him play more. Rodrigo had some chances but like everyone is saying he is having bad luck at the moment but he will come over it. We only made one gol but had many more chances to make more the team is finding itself and still has more to go.

i am happy to hear boca finally signed Gracian. i thought he was a great player for Velez, hopefully he can do same for Boca.

We needed a playmaker and we got one.

This guy Paletta i dont know much about him. Anyone have any information on him?

Palletta was on the sub-20 team with Messi that won the youth world cup.
He played in Banfield and was bought by Liverpool but didnt get many chances, and didnt do very well at Liverpool.

If I were you guys, I'd be happy with Gracian. He's a helluva player, and might even be able to contribute more to the squad than Riquelme.

Besides him, your other three signings don't look at all bad either. Just be glad that Macri didn't bring you guys Sixto Peralta!:mad:

I agree with Loco on this one. Bueno might be a steal here. He was a hell of a goalscorer for Penarol, but just quite couldn't cut the mustard in France or Portugal. I remember when Bueno and "Cebolla" Rodriguez were offered to River a few years ago. As we all know, our wonderful dirigentes rejected them.

I don't expect Gracian to fill Roman's shoes, that would be too much to ask. But if he can be a 'Pocho' Insua type of player for Boca then he will help the team a lot. Boca is deperately in need of a player like that.

If they trully offered 12 palos, then I think Macri did all he could. We cannot complain. It is amazing that we were able to get Roman back at his prime, at least for one season.

I just wish he could have played in the world club championships. After he came so close to the Champion league title with Villareal, and missed that penalty, it would have been a great story if he could have led Boca to a win over the Euro champions.

Villarreal at some point is going to have to settle and take what Macri offers. They may get better offers but so long as Roman has a transfer refusal clause he's getting paid. Roman has made it pretty clear it's either BOCA or Villa that he's going to play for. Villarreal I don't ever see happening again. Another reason Villarreal needs more in transfer fees is to off-set the loss they will suffer from the percentage Barca retains over any further transfers. It'll be interesting.
