If you love to play and feel good about your game why should anyone feel you would be happy to be subbed.

Hell, I love Mo and support him 100% but if I played for Mo and was constantly being the one subbed I would eventually start to get pissed off. Heck, I got pissed off when I played slow pitch and the coach wanted to sub me for another player. I came to play to and I want to play and damn it if I am going to be subbed, unless I am injured, I will not be happy.

THAT SHOULD NOT TRANSLATE IN TO I SHOULD NOT BE SUBBED.

That is a completely different issue. The Manager has to make those decisions, which is why he is there, but as a player I do not have to be happy with it.

Hell, I want people on my team who want to play and feel that they should be playing. If I was Mo, I would sub them too, and inwardly would be very pleased that they are not happy coming off as I want people who want to play and believe they should.

I don't know what the point of the thread is but if you're playing like shit than you have no reason to complain about being subbed off. I hate the feeling of being subbed off too. Nothing worse than that in sports. But if I'm playing poorly, I rarely ever complain. The only time I get all red in the face is when others on my team are playing poorly or I'm being subbed off because of some lousy rotation mantra.

Actually I was very good, numerous MVP awards, home run champ, etc but at the same time when you have 16 guys on your team and only 9 can play some have to sit and eventually so do starters. Sitting an inning or two so others could play is only fair and right but one does not have to like it. I like the fact that players, like Welsh, don't want to come off. Shows heart and competitiveness.

    I agree.

Somebody asked the point of this thread and it is in response to a comment in another thread that as Welsh was pissed when he was subbed, that he should NOT be playing with the team at all.

Nobody, barring injury, should ever want to leave the field. #1TFC is right on as far as I'm concerned. Welshie wants to play and was unhappy to be taken out! Good for him!!!

Actually Welsh doesn't want to come off because he's garbage and he need's to redeem himself. The problem is Welsh has had far too many chances to redeem himself, he's just playing to break even now.

Say Welsh scores TFC's first goal in 720 minutes or w/e, everyone will praise him and he'll feel better about himself.

I want to play for TFC too but i'm rubbish, doesn't mean I should stay in because I have "Heart".

Melo should be in, this guy should book a plane back to England, sorry.

Only a crazy manager puts a slow but game proven CB at FB and then moves a poor trade for a LB into a midfield position who can't accomplish anything while the whole time you a have a proven out and out left winger.

For pity's sake, take Dunivant out for Wynne. Put him in front of Braz and move Welsh over to the left where he belongs. Now you have 2 attacking midfielders/wingers on the pitch. But wait, our fullbacks have no vision on the ball going forward... complete waste.

blah blah, injuries..., blah blah I hate him/get rid of him. Its all crap! The one guy running his ass off is getting the stick. We all know who puts this team out there day in and day out and it's time for him to take the piss.

Welsh and heart and competitiveness are not ready to be used in the same sentence yet. I use yet because I'm hoping that he exhibits these qualities if he ever gets a start again.

I betcha that is pretty much what we're going to see on Saturday. Welsh should be on the left, Wynne on the right and adjust the backline so that Dunivant, for all intents and purposes, replaces Braz.

Incidentally, I don't think the Dunivant for Goldie trade was a bad deal. I liked Goldie but he sometimes scared me to death. Dunivant is no superstar either but IMO, he was an upgrade.
