FYI, if you have Cox, you do NOT get CN8.

Just to make things confusing for everyone,

Comcast has it's own regional general purpose cable channel, CN8.

The DC Cable networks have a regional news channel, NewsChannel 8, or NC8.

In the past, NC8 has been a place where overlapping CSN programming has gone (United and Caps). Has that changed and it'll now be on CN8?

I have both channels, so I'll just figure out which has it by process of elimination, but some folks only get one (or neither), and they ought to have advance warning.

CN8 has live video for free on their site. I'm not sure if it will be around for the game, but one might as well try and head on over to the site if they don't have HDNet or CN8. It's a pretty good stream right now.

Is anyone getting the Direct Kick pre-game?
As of now I am not.
Cox Fredburg Channel 77 is signed OFF right now.

Screwed by Cox again, so it would seem.

Anyone know if this is on Arlington Comcast? I assumed CN8 meant news channel 8 as they've shown an occasional game in the past but they're just showing their regular news showl

DK must be messed up on all providers. Damn, I specifically stayed home thinking I could get it. I don't know what CN8 is in Alexandria on Comcast but I'm not finding anything.

Is anyone getting the game on RCN/Starpower? I can't find it. And to make matters worse, CN8 has minor league baseball on its website feed.

Mine too (on Comcast in Arlington).
CN8 is channel 21 on Arlington Comcast. Just found that out myself. I, too, figured it was 8.

It's showing DCU (although the guide says it's baseball).

In Southern NJ (Philly area), CN8 is showing minor league baseball.

(I didn't expect to get the game up here anyway, but when I found out it was on CN8, I held out some hope. I didn't think CN8 was regional. Ah well...)

It seems it is regional and United is on everywhere in the "Chesapeake Potomac" area of CN8. From their website:

    Baltimore Live MLS Soccer
    Pittsburgh Live MLS Soccer
    Richmond Live MLS Soccer
    Washington D.C. Live MLS Soccer

Thanks a lot! Although it's disturbing to tune in at the 10 minute mark and find Gros is allready out injured. Limarzi says it's his 3rd of the season!

OK, I asked Doug Hick's about what happened to Direct Kick on Sat and this is the reply:

"I spoke to the League and have confirmed that United games aired in our local market are blacked out on the DK package within the CSN footprint in order to push viewers to the local distributing network. This policy is replicated by most other professional leagues in America.

In the case of Saturday, Dish and DirectTV were unable to carry our game outside of the DK package since they don't have CN8 on their systems. We'll work with the league to drop the blackout for future CN8 dates, if need be."

I pointed out to Doug that many people were at bars that only had a dish so the alternative Comcast station wasn't an option (and I think people thought we could watch the Columbus feed on DK, I did).

What they ended up doing, in my case, was to push a subscriber from Direct TV to a competitor. There's no way in hell I'm going to pay for Direct Kick if I can't even watch the team I spent the money for. At least with Comcast I have a chance of getting what I paid for.
