Don't get me wrong, I like the Spree....but they ain't exactly a "pump you up/psych you up" kind of a band. Not in a manly, pre-game, lets get ready to kill 'em kind of a way.

I manage plenty of bands in the area that would be perfect for the pre-game soundtrack

I'm listening to the song right now.

This is... terrible. Wow- really, really terrible.

I think I'd take that outdated "Goals! Goals! Goals!" song the USMNT still use over this. Ouch.

    I say "h-o-o-p-s no!"
I thought last years video was horrible, this one could possibly be worse.

Tim's song will grow on you. They will primarily use the last 10-15 seconds of the song.
It's quite the contrast to MIKE JONES for Htown.

    Barf?!

Some of the player photos are hilarious?!

    - Klejstan shaking off a dog turd...
    - Ruiz looks like he's throwing throwing streamers from the Inferno section (or flicking a booger at Nunez)...
    - Klein letting off a SBD (silent but deadly)...
    - Pablo kicking a cat...
    - Ronnie having a sense of humor...
    - Noonan getting goosed...
    etc.

with all the bands that are from the dallas area, why is it they chose the one with such a limited appeal, especially for a second time? the site itself is very well done, but alot of the content leaves me scratching my head. i guess i just don't REPRESENT as the home page suggests I do. damn me.

Holy hell. I love the Spree, but this is just PAINFUL.

My beagle shits better theme songs than this.

    "H-O-O-P-S Yes" ??

Gina hit is spot on -- right on target with GOALS GOALS GOALS...and that's no target you should be aiming for.

This is NOT what I had in mind when the guy from adidas called me for input.

Boomer, I will give you four dollars to kindly shut the hell up about forever about Tim having a Dynamo shirt at MLS Cup. First, it was him and not the whole group. They were in their Fragile Army blacks. Second, he also wore a Revs shirt for half their performance.

I gotta say, I was impressed with the bands that MLS put together for the mashes last year. After the Spree we had The Academy Is, the Lordz of Brooklyn, and Mates of State. But dang, did they pull out some stops to get this done. Damone and The Rapture would have fit in with the caliber of last year's line-up, but OK Go, Mike Jones, and BNL are simply coups. BTW, notice that Polyphonic is the only group to return from last year. So either they wanted to work for FCD again or the local music scene has completely crapped out.

I have to admit my second impression is better than the first. I guess I was excited about the possibilities and found it didn't live up to what I had in my head, but what ever does?

I also know that these people talked with Travis about ideas (I helped get them together) and so I was surprised when none of that translated.

But then I listened to each one, and ours isn't as bad as I first thought. Not sure how the song will settle out, but I agree that it was growing on my as SRS said above.

Next year they need to get Pantera (or who is left anyway) back together for a song. If they can't put together a song to get people fired up nobody can.

    Ok here's the breakdown:
Give Polyphonic Spree some time. It is the highest quality production of all the songs and sounds like it is written to get you pumped no matter what you think after the first few listens. Just trust me. It also has the most versatility as a marketing piece(if FCD uses any which is probably not happening)

Mike Jones' song is the best song for now. Very catchy and high energy like most of Mike's songs. The problem with it is that it is one dimensional and will be more difficult to use in sound spots.

    The other top performers:
    The Rapture for NYRB
    OK GO for Fire
    Bad Brains for DCU

    The worst:
Meg & Dia for RSL by far the WORST
KCW's crap band that I forgot to write down

The sloppy/last second writing job was turned in by the Barenaked Ladies for TFC. I think they wrote that song in 10 minutes.

The rest of the songs are middle of the road. Again, you will be suprised at how Tim's song will grow on you unless you dig 80's hair bands because you are not expected to know music.

Yea, I just realized that there isn't a lot to work with there. I take back my criticism of the creator and pass it to the people responsible for leaving out all of our other goals as options.

If they took off the H-O-O-P-S Yes part it would at least be ok.

Bowling for Soup? The Killers (not local, but liked the jersey)?

Of course, my personal favorite would be to steal Disturbed from Chicago and have them do our song. Or Mettalica or something similar.
