I was gonna say - who will volunteer to put the sweater on the deer?

    Nice story. Really well done.

I'm going to hold him to that promise. When I met him in his box last year he was wearing a fleece instead of his usual suit. I was kinda surprised. The guy is top notch!

No but no one feels the need to "kiss up" to you...

    :D

It was nice to see good press about soccer fans in the US. Crazy = positive instead of the usual tripe that soccer fans are hooligans and violent.

    :)

Well, if the shoe fits .... :) [/channeling Prendergast!]

Marco Antonio Gillespie must be the youngest person to ever attend a game (out of the womb, that is)!

Hey Rob, any idea where I can find my suitcase for the Toronto road trip??

Welp, we also made it on the radio, two stations. I don't know if anyone has heard those "Today, in the Washington Post" ads, but we are on there and the guy that says "La Barra Brava" sounds hilarious. I heard it on DC101 and some other station while flipping through the dial.

haha, nice distinction. He might be the youngest in the Barra (so far!), but my grandson was the same age for his first game, I think - and Ive seen even younger (like fresh) babies up in the club back in the day - I met one 11 year-old kid the last game of last year who I had seen as an infant up in the old United Club in 1996, man I felt old........ and man, do I miss that place, wish they would start that up again.

Great article, he did a really good job of pumping it up, sometimes writers lose the excitement - but this was quality work.

    :D
The article did make me think a tiny bit less of the Barra as a whole tho - who knew there were so many accountants
    :D

Heard it on WTOP as well, and loved the rolling of the Rs.

Yeah, tell me about it - I spend all week bitching about the accountants at work, who knew I was jumping and singing with them on the weekends?

I've organized a "field trip" with my derby team to the New England game in September.

This morning I sent them a link to this article. I've already gotten several, "Holy Shit! I can't wait to go now!" e-mails from team mates who checked out the Post today.

One even demanded that I teach them all the chants at our next practice. :D

    FYP :D

Accountants: Organized, attention to detail, hard working. Add in the term booze hound and that fits Scruggs, GM, and myself like a glove!!! It's true. Accountants kick ass! :D

If you add creativity to that mix you get an architect! ;)

I must admit though, accountants that get too creative end up in jail. :D
