Decent game compared to past derbies. Rust from both teams was easy to spot. Other then that, still waiting to see this 40m Euro Porto player play against us and a grande GRANDE goal by Izmailov. Marat definately knew when to make the right impression.

First Taca of Season and our SuperTaca record stays intact.

Congrats Sporting, next time Jesualdo says winning is like brishing his teeth again, I hope another team makes him eat his words like my love did today.

    So you don't care?

    So you care again?

The game was boring and badly played.
Two hits to the post by Porto, a great goal by Izmailov, and there was a penalty by Tonel.... this resumes the game.

Anyway, I actually prefer a win for Sporting.
They have so little and seeing them happy makes me warm and fuzzy inside.

A lackluster game overall with a golaco from izmailov.
Not bad for the 1st official game of the year.
    Where was Lucho???

Those comments about brushing your teeth was nothing but mourinho like and jeezwaldo, trust me your no mourinho.

    Viva Sporting:)

It wasn't an exciting game by any stretch. It seemed pretty even IMO. Quaresma had the two free kicks in the first 15 minutes hit the posts and Kaz also hit the post once, and Sporting had a few quality chances. Izmailov's blast was just wicked - a true golaço! I have told everyone that this kid will be the one who will impress the most of the new signings and so far, so good. I still want to see more control and flow from the midfielders, and Liedson played well with Derlei, so hopefully that partnership will produce a lot of offense. Stojkovic worried me on a couple of set pieces, and it sucked seeing Pedro Silva get subbed so early due to injury.

All in all, the first piece of silverware on the season, and hopefully the first of many :)

When Quaresma hit the post with his freekick, Stojkovic had that corner covered anyways.

    He was disapointing.

    I'm back.

Not a pretty game, but the tactic employed by Mr. Colgate wasn't pretty.

Thankfully the ref let them know immediately that the yellows would be coming, he just forgot to give Helton one on the quick corner kick where he's completely out of position. Sporting looked good early on, but FCP tactic of defending, and countering created Sporting some problems.

The free kick Cigano hit the post was clearly covered by the keeper, and look carefully at the play, and Fucile clearly pulled Abel shirt before gaining the advantage before the call.

Meanwhile Liedson wasn't much part of the offense, (not for not trying, but being marked pretty well) left Derlei with the most goal opportunities, and I hope he finds the net soon because I getting frustrated with his constant misses.

We were definitely lucky in the end when Kaz hit the post. So no definite domination by either team, and it took a brilliant play from Sporting to create the only cracker of a goal by Izmailov. Nice way to start the season. So Sporting keeps the record of not losing a Supertaca to Porto.

Just hope JLR brought the handkerchief to wipe CSD's tears. ;)

Sloppy game but congrats Sporting. Izmailov is full marks for that goal. Porto got unlucky especially with Kaz's post. Lucho's presence was definitely missed, and I was disappointed we didn't get a chance to see Farias play. Ho-hum type of game, but no excuses and SCP full points for the win.

interesting to see no one mentioned the obvious Penalty (hand ball) not called on Tonel... Sporting starts off the year with some help from the MIB as PIO likes to refer them...:D

anyway, JLR I tried calling your phone # but apparently it was missing a digit.

Despite Porto hitting the post 3 times during this game and Izmailov showing up once thru out the whole game, a tie would have been the "fairer" result IMO.

The stadium was nice w/ good atmosphere where the Porto fans clearly were outnumbering and were louder than the lagartos.
Sporting is closing in on getting half the # of Porto's SuperTacas.

OK, thread can now be closed! :p
