Well it wasn't pretty but I finally made my debut in the 1A of Mexico with Pachuca Indios of Cuidad Juarez. Anyway after playing in mexico for the 4 years I was finally given a chance to be one step closer to my dream. I'm training now with the first team but only for a week. I played well this past week but we got dropped by Mexiquense 3 to 1. Right now I'm under observation with the first team so who knows maybe I will get a chance. I have to fly back to Juarez on Thursday but I might get to go with the first team to the super-liga. I also trained with FC Dallas but damn it was all about being big and fast. I'm not complaining thats just the style in MLS and I've come in terms with myself that I will never be big or fast enough for the american game. ps: i belive Rodolfo Castillo-born in 1990 -made his debut with Tigres B in the primera division
Congrats man, it's good to see Americans of all styles playing in the top leagues, especially with such a great, attacking team like Pachuca. I'm hoping to see ya in the SuperLiga, good luck.
Dude, that's awesome and I really am happy you take the time to post your news here... Buena suerte y espero que ensenes todos los mexicanos que los gringos pueden jugar futbol!
Good luck! I once saw a 1A game between Oaxaca and Cihuatlan. Man I had a good time, $1 Caronas! The basic set up for both teams was a 4-5-1 and each team had a big, plodding, athletic but not very skilled striker, supported by more technical but smaller, less athletic midfielders sending balls into the box. Is that a common set up in 1A, or just a coincidence?
Congrats Marco, I was checking Femexfut website and man, going 90 on your first match is quite an acomplishment. Good luck and watch out, this semester Pachuca has a lot of games, you never know, some good games here and there and you might make "La Bella Airosa" your regular residence. I was also checking the stats of the game of Tigres B, but no, your friend Rodolfo wasn't called for this one.
Congrats and wishing you great luck this year and in the future. Thanks for posting. At 17, you could keep improving for another decade! Good luck.
To be clear, Marco is an '86 so he is a bit older than 17. His friend Rodolfo, who has also posted here, is the teenager (at Tigres I believe).
Hey guys thanks for the support Anyway I find out tomorrow if I make the trip with the 1st team to the super-liga. There is a good chance according to the coach but will see. Oh i have some crazy unexpected news. My friend Rodolfo Castillo is on trial as we speak with Fenerbahçe S.K of Turkey. If any of you guys live in monterrey pick up this weeks El Esto(soccer newspaper) and there is a small article. He sent me an email and told me Tigres was going to put him in the Terecera Division with 15 and 16 yr olds and he did not want to play in that division. This is because FMF did not allow him to play in the Segunda due to non mexican players playing (ONLY 2 per team i believe) and tigres already had two. He also didnt want to live in reynosa (with tigres b)...because his mom said no no.Anyway if you guys add him on facebook he already has pictures of him training in turkey aswell as pictures of him with Tigres. Anyway I will try to update you guys later when he replies to me
Nope never played for the youth teams. I quit playing club soccer at the age of 16. i played for chivas in mexico when i was 14 -Honestly if any of you guys have kids dont send them to mexico until they turn 16 or 17. I use to have top of the line skills when i was 13 and not trying to brag but i was praised by many players suck has Kevin smith and Lee Ngyuen, ramon nunez among others. I mean ask them they still remember . So i moved to mexico after being scouted during dallas cup but over there they never let me dribble so i came back and just played in adult leagues. I guest played with solar for dallas cup thats about it. Odp one year but too expensive. get an agent like rodolfo i never had one i just knocked on doors
It's amazing the amount of quality Hispanic players that fall through the cracks. ODP is too expensive for working class kids and seems too focused on suburban youth. Well please play for the USA if you get the opportunity.
You know, i would really love to see one of you young 'uns get a blog here on BS.com.. I would really be interested in hearing about your trials and training and impressions... And if that is not for you, maybe another Yank abroad..
