    Kaka and Ronaldinho back ! Sobis ... surprise !!! I guess no 2nd chance to Afonso.

    No Ronaldo ... who picked up a knock in training, yet again.

    Ombak, you're too quick, beat me to the bunch by a whole 7 minutes.

    A certain member here will be happy about Julio Cesar getting in!!

    Ronaldinho Gaucho and Kaka are lucky boys - particularly the former. Dunga and the word 'forgive' in the same sentence!!

    It's hardly a surprise though - our number 1 goalkeeper was called up. So was our number 1 defender (Lúcio) and our number one midfielder (Kaká).

    Predicted lineup:

    Júlio César;
    Maicon, Lúcio, Juan, Gilberto;
    Elano, Mineiro, Júlio Baptista;
    Kaká;
    Ronaldinho Gaúcho, Robinho

    I don't know why Dunga insists so much on R. Sobis, Diego, and Elano? If R. Sobis hadn't been injured he would have been on the Copa America squad hands down.... And Diego he just can't do it on the seleção level and has proven it, and Elano well...I am happy to finally see the best brazilian GK called up Júlio César!! Although Doni will most likely get the nod against Argélia because of how the CA turned out.

    Yes indeed. Agree re Lucio but I think Juan finally 'arrived' during the recent Copa, by that I mean he assumed the mantle of one of the senior players and was class and cool throughout. I really do want to see Ronaldo back in there (but that is for 'my' other forum!).

    Yeah... then again, switch the order of those letters and it's Rafael Sobis FTW!!! (for the win, for those of you not nerdy enough...)

    I wonder why others weren't called up. The French league already started. Is Fred playing? I just checked it myself and he did not dress for Lyon's opening game, so I guess he's not ready.

    EDIT: Found an article - he was 10-15 days away from training on August 1st. So still not ready.

    Elano has had some pretty good games for us and if it wasnt for the injury, he could of been man of the match against Argentina, remember he was on for only 30 minutes and through out, he was running circles around Macherano

    If there was one down side to winning the Copa America, it is that Dunga will continue to be the coach for a while. I can never seem to understand any of his call ups.

    Your call obviously but you can onbviously do it tonight assuming you know the address of where you are staying.

    And (again) obviously (!) you have an English option on there if it helps.

    Sobis being picked had me banging my head vs a wall!! He's playing in 2nd divison my god Just imagine if Dunga starts both him and Vagner Love!! :D

    And btw I wouldn't be surprised if Dunga wounds up coaching our Olympic team at Beijing'08!!

    Fernado, Vagner Love, Minerio, Alex Silva, Sobis is this a joke.

    I taught Scolari call up were bad; Dunga callups make me want to kill him.
    This is why Dunga should be fired not for his playing style but his ridiculous call ups. Can someone please tell me what has Sobis done to receive a callup, How did Gilberto Silva and Alex get dropped. The only positive here is that Lucas is on the team.

    Yeah, I agree some callups are weird.

    But, as for Alex and Gilberto Silva being dropped - do you want the same 18 guys every time? Can't the coach drop someone who he is confident he knows enough about and fit someone else in? I see no evidence that he has dropped either of those guys long-term.

    I don't think the call up was that bad except for maybe 1 or 2 players. If sobis can get his Inter form back he might be a surprise. We have all seen what Love can do, 3 goals in 20 games so i wouldn't mind giving sobis another chance. I would also have liked to see Denilson(Arsenal) in that Midfield together with Lucas. Anyways as long as Dunga doesn't play a 4312 with Julio Baptista as our only creative player again then I will be happy :D

    No, I want players who deserve call-ups like Mancini, Renato(Sevilla), Maxwell, Pepe, Simplicio, Amauri, Ronaldo, Adriano C.

    I think dunga will play the 4-2-3-1 Formation which is right considering the opponent.

    ----------------------J. Cesar--------------------

    Maicon-------------Lucio--------Juan-------------Gilberto

    --------------------Josue------Elano----------------

    Robinho-------------------Kaka------------------Ronaldinho

    --------------------------V. Love---------------------

    I saw highlights from a Barcelona pre-season game and it looks like Ronaldinho lost some weight and is moving quick. But the question still remains, how can we utilize him to his fullest potential.
