Seems as though we'll be able to watch tomorrow's match on the net via PSG TV. If you're in Chicago, expect the matches to be shown on the big screen at the Globe Pub - call ahead to confirm.

very good news, although I'm not sure whether to join up or not, the idea of paying but waiting up to 6 hours to watch the game doesn't quite seduce me. Especially since with today's technologies, we can see the same things for free, albeit at a lower quality.
On the other hand, if you love the club, this is like spending money on any other merchandise, to pay for stars or upgrading the club's facilities.
Meh, I'll pass for the moment

now if Canal+ proposed the same deal, but on a direct hi-res stream feed, then I wouldn't mind, especially for the foot+ games like tomorrow that do not get broadcast.

Well until this happens, I've subscribed to PSG Tv for the month - checking it out before making the committment for a full season. A season's subscription which works out to about 9 months is 39 Euros ($53) which is about $6 per month. This is a no brainer for me. The price for one month is less than two beers. Streaming quality has been great. It's the Canal + feed. Alot less than a trip to the pub when you factor in food, drinks and the time it takes to get there. Commentary is in French which is my lanaguage of preference when watching PSG or Les Bleus. Being able to watch when I want is even better, so instead having to watch at a time when I may want to actually be outdoors or doing who knows what. The money I'll save from not visitting the pub will go towards the flat screen monitor I've been pondering for quite some time and of course it will be connected to the pc to watch the matches. Now, when I figure out how to capture the video feed and burn to DVD then it will be an even better deal but so far so good.

I'd be interested to see what people think on the offer. I'm conidering getting it as well since probably only 1/3 of games are shown live here, so if anyone has experienced it or checked it out this past weekend, feedback would be awesome.

And I agree, it's about time they started PSG TV, since it was a project that had been in the works for who knows how many years.

    Je suis desole,
I forgot to mention that today, PSGTV is showing the youth team match against Juventus and Barcelona from the Malaysia tournament. They just announced it yesterday.

    I would say so.

I live in England where exposure to the Ligue 1 is almost none, so having PSG TV lets me see the highlights of every game (which I wouldn't be able to do over here on TV).

However, I don't speak French which means that all the interviews and whatnot are a bit lost on me. So i you do speak French it would be even better.

No wonder why French clubs dont have more money. The people who run the show put very little effort in promoting their league outside their own country. They need to wake the F up.

    True that.

I've never seen a PSG shirt in any of the shops over here.

I'm just looking for some specifics from you guys, especially from those who currently subscribe. I tried looking for answers on www.psg.tv but no such luck (even when I clicked on the English-language version).

How long does it usually take following matches for them to be available? Does that vary depending on start time or other factors?

Also, will all cup (Coupe de la Ligue and Coupe de France) games be available? I saw that the Lorient contest was available, so that is a really good sign, but wasn't sure if that was the exception rather than the rule.

Any indication whether European (Champions League, UEFA Cup) matches would be available, as well? I know there obviously is no European play for PSG this year; I'm talking about down the line.

    Thanks.

I doubt they would have the rights to show UEFA (likely) or CL (unlikely) games, because there are already other companies that have paid huge for the internet broadcasting rights for those competitions.

I could see that, but then again Celtic's "Channel 67," which shows every Celtic game live except for Champions League games (group stages and later) and those are available to view "as live" just four hours later (midnight Scottish time). So there must be a way for clubs to acquire tape delay rights to Champions League games.

But the good things with those games is that it should be pretty easy to gain access to watch those entire games through other avenues they were not available through PSG TV.

Bottom line, if there is a way to ensure I can watch every PSG competitive game, then I definitely will consider supporting the team on a more in-depth basis.

Depends on the match but the average seems to be around 4 hours.

Yep and those may be available sooner or even real time
We probably will need to wait 'til that time since rules change but at the moment if we were in a European tournament those matches would be available most likely on delay.

I say try it for a month and go from there. I've been so disappointed in this season that I haven't watched PSG TV in awhile. I've just written this season off as a chance to see what our future will look like and I'm liking it but this not winning is killing me.

Well, it looks like European (or at least UEFA Cup) matches will be available. I discovered that Bordeaux has pretty much the exact same setup and every Ligue 1, Coupe de la Ligue and UEFA Cup game is included to view on its site.

    http://webtv.girondins.com/index_6_gb_US.html?&session=

Unfortunately, it does not appear that any Coupe de France or Champions League games from 2005-06 were included (obviously Champions League games can be viewed through other sources, but CdF games are a must because I don't believe those are available elsewhere - Fonsos or anybody else who knows, do you have confirmation somewhere that CdF games will be included with PSG.TV?).

Also, not sure if this is the same as it is for PSG, but Bordeaux's site says that its next match will be available on its website at midnight that day (3 p.m. PT here in the U.S.).

Overall it's a great set-up and I wish more teams would have it (assuming CdF games are included). As a football fan I want to be have the option to watch an entire game. Whatever company these two clubs are working with does an outstanding job of organizing and simplifying these two respective websites.

I've read nothing confirming that Coupe de France will be shown on PSGTV. Based on Coupe de la Ligue matches being shown, I'm assuming that Coupe de France matches will be shown on PSGTV. So far, all PSG matches have been shown via PSGTV whether live or delay and looking at the diversity in regards to TV outlets that have shown the matches live - Canal+, France 4, France 3, etc... it's probably safe to assume PSGTV will show Coupe de France matches. I also believe that each club has certain rights in regards to showing matches and I believe many do so via their website - easy money. Bordeaux seems to be very progressive in regards to promoting the club, so I'd be shocked it you're unable to watch Coupe de France matches via Bordeaux TV online.

    Fonsos, thanks for the reply.

I contacted the people at PSG.TV and received this reply, "I think the coupe de france games won't be available. But i am not sure, because we are only a technical support." Now, I have sent an e-mail to psg@psg.tm.fr (http://www.psg.fr/fr/contact/0,,,00.html) and am awaiting a response from them.

I'm just concerned that there are some rights issues for Coupe de France games similar to what HalfManHalfAmazing mentioned above in regards to European games. But I hope that, worse case scenario, there will be some way to watch those games. I love cup games (kind of like NCAA Tournament play for us in the States) and really want to be able to watch CdF games.

I have not received a reply.

If anybody would like to e-mail them in French or to take a look at that web page to see if there is a different e-mail address that would be better to use, please do.

Just to give an update on www.psg.tv for the 2008-09 season, they are now not allowing any of its Ligue 1 matches that week to be viewable until Sundays at midnight Paris time (6 p.m. ET). Last year, those were available from midnight the day of the game. A minor issue with making sure to avoid what happened for the 25+ hours between a Saturday game and watching it Sunday, but that becomes 95+ hours in the case of a league game on Wednesday.

On the positive side, all cup games, including Coupe de la Ligue (if PSG had been participating), Coupe de France and UEFA Cup games, will be available from midnight the day of the game.

Interesting. It looks completely fine to me through FireFox. IE 6 is the most recently IE on my computer and the layout of the website looks a little funky, but still usable, but on FireFox it looks fine and works great.
