$50 for a cordial invite to a post-game party? Mr. Boswell is quite the high roller; who does he think is going to go to this party after a muggy night in DC? I would hope that with a price like that some charity in the area would make a pretty penny, but that's hoping. I also hope something less swanky manifests.

 

Odds that Beckham actually plays?

After seeing that he wasn't even on the substitution lineup in Toronto, What are the odds that Beckham magically recovers from this ankle injury and plays against us?

My guess?

Starting: 0 Chance
Coming in at 80th Min?: 50/50

But regardless of whether he plays or not, It will all go away if we can beat LA (Becks) and Landycakes in front of 44,000 or so fans

So judging by the lalas interview during the toronto game, and beckham's statemetns at his press conference it seems he probably won't play on thursday. However, I imagine that the galaxy's approach may be to make it seem like hte worst possible so that way if he does play at DC it's a nice surprise, and if not then it's not like a last moment kind of thing.

I hope your the only ones berating him. All our chants/chides/etc toward him only seem to make him play even better then he normally does. Last thing we need is to get him angry/motivated, I would've thought we've all learned that by now given his performances against us in RFK.

I heard McClaren will be at the match Thursday, so maybe that'll be some extra incentive for Becks to try and play in order to show teh coach hes still good enough for teh English MNT.

Goff is reporting that Steve McClaren will be in attendance on Thursday night. I'm guessing he wouldn't make the trip unless Becks was planning to play, at least a little. We know he's not coming to scout any other English players.

In the true meaning of conservation, Fenty and Lalas should present the get out of the league you leg-humping idiot award, to Cobi with LD, Beckham, Martino and Quarantino observing.

This way I can boo all at 1 time without having to boo each individually.

Does any kind soul have a spare ticket?

I work for the State Department and have been in Vietnam for the past 2 years, and am shipping out overseas again in a few weeks. I've been under house arrest all summer after the birth of our second daughter. I've got a kitchen pass this week as the mother-in-law is in town. I couldn't really care less about seeing Becks but I really really want to see my DCU for the first time in several years, and am very annoyed that my only chance is this week when all the wannabes are coming out...

As for my DCU credentials: I organized a group of 70 to DCU's first ever home game and have had a ticket in 232 with the Choir whenever I've been in DC. I've posted on BigSoccer ever now and then too...

frankly - a good ole Landycakes butt whipping is worth it to stuff RFK to the gills. So when was the last time 53,000 was in the house?
