The only criticism I have from this match (other than perhaps the wisdom in playing Jaime) is once again about the quality of the broadcast. Does Comcast not have cameras they can adjust for sun vs. shade? And BTW, why don't the coaches wear sunglasses? We had many shots of them shielding their eyes. Most of these shots happened during the run of play. Why does the program director think we would rather see Tom Soehn squinting into the sun than actually watch the game we tuned in to see? And we missed the restart of Emilio's last goal because we were watching Wells Thompson jog up the field. The direction got worse as the game wore on. Maybe the director was bored with the match and thought we were. I wasn't, BTW.

If Moreno can't go, I say we give up on the wing experiment and put Fred up top with Emilio. Gros replaces him on the wing in front of our new Burch-McT-Bos-Namoff backline. Then everyone's where they like to play anyway and happy (until Moreno is back and someone gets benched...)

I wonder how injured Parkhurst is. I haven't seen him come out of a match due to injury during his 3 years in the league.

This was the key. Players moving in and around the ball, quick ball movement kept the Revs on their heels. Not to mention the guys up front chasing the ball and forcing errors. They were all in it today. No Gomito, Fred and virtually Jaime and we pasted the East leaders. What a thoroughly enjoyable win! I'd like to see more of this team. Haven't seen them in a while. ;)

Troy gets a well deserved clean sheet. Kpene doesn't look good dribbling but his flicks and no look passes are awesome. Burch should have had at least one assist. Simms held his own in the middle and the back line would bend but never broke. Great to have Namoff back and Burch owns the left side now. Great heads up play by Gros. How many times have we needed someone to chase the ball just in case? Gros made Reis look like an idiot. Benny had a great game but tired out at the end. Really enjoyed watching this game.

objectively, reis did have his hand on the ball when gros scored, although i'm not sure about the rule, i've seen goals called back for that

subjectively, reis fumbled the ball, i think thats the 1 yd line on the gridiron field, and gros walked it into the endzone for 6

simms is the unsung motm, great physical play won a lot of balls, and made dyachenko's day that much easier

    olsen was nuts today

    the ref did suck

our defense rocked, huge confident boost for the whole team

    A road win, finally!

DCU looked good today and they played well; I think the coaching staff has some things to ponder about the players usually reserved for starting on the bench. I was really impressed with Burch and Gros on the wings, both getting forward and back. I love watching Olsen when he has a game like this: confident, provoking, hustle, hustle, hustle. Perkins looked good and confident come the final whistle, Boswell delivered, Dyachenko was solid in the midfield. Props to Gros for getting on that loose ball and of course to Emilio who caught the Revs sleeping on defense twice.

Overall, great game. Let's hope this is us hiding our stride in the final months.

Sims with a great game for my MOTM.

Emilio also did very well today.

I never want to see Burch leave the starting lineup.

I have to admit, I am growing fond of these Sunday afternoon/evening matches. Even if you are having a crap weekend, you know you can end it on a high note.

Great win today without some big guns. Emilio is a great acquisition but to come out of this season with a solid young left sided defender is a huge bonus.

"Alex, did I just trip on my own?" - Yes Pat, you did. :D

What I love about the way he slotted that ball to Emilio was that he stole a quick look and then looked forward while passing to his left. My guess is that kept the defender thinking he was going to continue his run and not worry about getting in the way of a pass.

The other quick-thinking play was Emilio quickly getting up from the foul, restarting to Ben as he got fully to his feet and then Ben, knowing the run would be there, getting the ball through to him.

And, Dychenko, nice job on Joseph. I was actually wondering where he was.

    Just loved that.

I gotta be honest, I thought we'd have no chance today given our missing personnel. Glad I was wrong.

Burch is the find of the season, I really don't see Vanney and his fat salary staying around for next season. Given how thin we looked in teh back at teh beginning of the season we've found two guys in McTavish and Burch who can more then handle themselves back there when needed.

Great win hopefully we carry the momentum through the rest of the season.

True, but if he had just done his job and claimed the ball he wouldn't have anything to whine about. It looked like a U-12 play.

Perhaps a nice yellow banner for New England's next visit to RFK?

I couldn't judge that from the broadcast. At first it looked as if it may be bad, then not so bad.

A much needed win today. I'm glad that Emilio is finding his form again. I hope he continues his form because we will need it big time down the stretch.

They were so accustomed to Prus buying EVERY dive in the first half, that they became incensed when he became more selective in which dives he was buying in the second.

And then to retaliate because the ref didn't buy his flop?? What an ass...

I really thought Dyachenko had a great match. He handled Shirley's petulant thuggery and contributed nicely to the attack.

Namoff and Burch are my starting fullbacks from now on. Great stuff today!

Kpene's through ball was a thing of beauty.

And Prus is a jerk. He actually let Reis talk him into giving Benny a card for kicking the ball away. Hey Matt, there are these things called Ball Kids that stand behind the goal and will throw you a ball if you ask nicely.

Someone said in the pre-match thread that Nicol created a team in his image. He must have been a whining hack in his playing days.

Must have sucked to watch us beat the ever living shit out of the team you have supported your whole life.

Very nice performance. We played with loads more composure and confidence. Their big guns hardly ever appeared to threaten us, which was nice considering the relative inexperience of our back line and the absence of some of our top players.

I thought Prus did a pretty good job, but 3-0 might have a lot to do with that assessment. It was a nice small gathering of some PA fans up in Gettysburg which enjoyed this win.

Congrats to "the United" (whoever they are).

BTW, DC United (aka "United") had a great win today too.

Was I the only one who thought it strange to see us on the positive end of some (sadly typical) MLS pigeon-crap officiating for once?

Who knows, maybe "the United" also benefitted from some poor calls-- whoever they were playing against.

The camera work on the replay was excellent, showing that quick look-off which bought him the time and space.

Yes Emilio is a good player.
Let's be honest President Bush could score a goal against James "The Muppet " Riley.
