matches are streamed in relatively high quality so you could always hook your tv up to the computer

Just one of many sites that tell you how and what you need.. Even if you don't have a video card that has video-out you can get a converter that will take care of it for around 35 buckaroos more or less, if you look around..

You... need to hear them in English? Why?

The content of your post doesn't suggest that you're new to the Game and need walking through the basics. Anything related to questionable calls is almost always replayed -you'll be able to make the decision for youself, not like it will affect the game- and the actions and reactions of players can tell you almost as much about a match as the pbp guys.

I watched the entire Copa America online and found it a completely enjoyable experience, despite the fact that I'm not a Spanish speaker. I watched some of the matches of the 2006 World Cup on Telemundo at a Mexican restaurant while my cable was out. I don't feel like I missed anything at all.

Think about it this way- you don't get any pbp at all when you watch a match at the stadium, which many people (myself included) believe is the best way to see the Game. But you still get the roar of the crowd and the atmosphere. Those two things cross language barriers easily.

It may mean that the English-language networks thought they had something more lucrative to broadcast, or that they were contractually obligated to broadcast something else. Could be a number of reasons.

I am glad that game is not on ESPN, because it seems someone forgot to tell the fans in Dallas that a very good and entertenning tournamet was going on right in their backyard. My god the place looks empty, but the game is better then any MLS game this past week. Where are all the Mexicans in Dallas tonight?........

dude, its definitely a codec or media player issue. try downloading the vlc player i linked to, open it, click "file" then "open network stream" then paste the link above in the customize box.

It is locally broadcast over the air on Telefutura here in Denver. I didn't know English was a requirement to be considered over the air and free tv.

This is true, as strange as it sounds. I don't speak a word of Spanish, and I've watched all the SuperLiga games on TeleFutura. The Internet feeds are worse to watch than TeleFutura, even though they're in English. Here's why:
    • TeleFutura cranks up the mike on the crowd. Meanwhile the Internet feed sounds like it's coming from inside a studio. It misses the whole atmosphere. I can't watch a game without a crowd roar.
    • Frankly, I'm tired of the English-speaking announcers on the Internet feeds. They ramble on forever. They try to flaunt their knowledge of the game. The whole thing feels like a National Geographic episode.
    • The TeleFutura guys have real emotion, I'm sad to say. They remind me of guys like Dick Vitale and Chris Berman who are a lot of fun. You can hear it in their voices; they get excited. The TeleFutura guys make it like a party, like an event.
    • As Auriaprottu said, I don't need the play-by-play. Any of us on BigSoccer could do the play-by-play just as well. In fact, many of us could do it better. When I hear the incomprehendable Spanish jabbering, at least I can tune it out.
    • As Auriaprottu also said, the TeleFutura version is more like the live experience, where there are no announcers. And the game is just as enjoyable, if not more enjoyable.
    • You'll see TeleFutura on your TV, which I bet has a bigger screen than the Windows Media Player window on your computer monitor.
