Lalas had a couple of decent seasons. There are hundreds of foreign players whose performance left a lot more to be desired than Lalas', but how do you spot the dimmest light? You can't, only what stands out can be recognized
Last season - Skela, Lukovic, Nastase Take your pick. My money Skela, cause he was ultra shit, but cause Ascoli had no backup defenders Nastase got to play for the season, and constantly farked up.
How many times did you see him play for Padova? I've been following the US team since the 1989 or so, and I can say I've never seen a Lalas Serie A game.
I saw about 6 full games and caught highlight packs from the rest. Pure crap and to think he is even worse as a manager.
Where and when did you see these games? Who were Padova's opponents, and what were the scores? IIRC, Lalas was at Padova for 3 years, 1994 - 96. Everything I've heard about his time there was that he was a pretty good player for that team. Also, how old are you?

No way, he was actually decent with Padova. If that's your opinion then fine but there have been a ton more crappier foreigners in Serie A. http://www.padovacalcio.it/storia6.php At the bottom of that article on Padova's web site it says that him along with a few other players made a positive impact with the team when he was there. There is even a photo of him. He scored winning goals vs Milan and Inter the first year he was there. Fábio Júnior get's my vote. That guy was hyped as the next Rivaldo, but never made decent showing with Roma in the late 90;s.
Behrami has been solid, and he is still very young. His touch can be off at times but he runs like a gazelle for 90 minutes, he's our Wilhelmsson. Worst foreigner: Mendieta. He was great @Valencia but was just horrible @Lazio.
I cant recall the exact dates and game its like 13+ years ago. We get a 3 game pack every weekend here and you will end up seing most teams 3-4 times a year. I just thought he was shite most of the time. Never close to the press he recieved. USA media candy coated it, they where happy to have an American in Serie A.
I would think your a goof. I watch 3-4 games every weekend live from Italy have been doing so for a long time. I came from near Padova and was hopefull they would be ok. Well they sucked and Lalas was the one with the shinny red nose(Clown). Now tell me who you saw play 13 years ago which teams and what the scores where.
