Hey guys just looking for some Arsenal fans in Portland. I saw a couple of posters in the Timbers forum who had Arsenal listed as one of their teams and just wanted to see who was around.

On another note i was thinking about emailing Mike at ArseAm and getting a branch office started for Portland. Thought i would see what kind of response i would get on here before i did that though. Thought it might be a good idea. Let me know.

You mean our 2nd game within 24 hours, 3rd in 4 days, spanning coast to coast?

Yes, I'd say that gives you a good chance but we'll see. I'm sure we'll be looking for a 0-0 draw for that one and with our defense we just might get it.

Oh, and I bet Gavin knows a thing or two about shutting down Byron :)

We will see about all that. Given our schedule you guys definitely have the upper hand but nothing is ever won on paper.

Hopefully, it will be cooler than today and Thursday's forecast. It was 84 at 7:30 this morning and 97 at lunchtime. With the humidity, it's like 111. The forecast calls for mid 80s on Sunday with our standard chance of a Summer thunderstorm.

Sounds wonderful, out heat wave came and went already. It rained the past 2 days but is supposed to be low 80's for the next few days.

Hey Gooner for Life, LOL I too almost e-mailed ArseAmerica last season to see if a supporters group could be set up here. I am definitely interested! Let me know what I can do to help. Also, I noticed several Portland area Arsenal fans as well!

Well that makes enough of us to have a good time at the pub watching Arsenal conquer all. Ill email ArseAm tomorrow and get the ball rolling on us getting a branch.

As well are any of you going to the Timbers game tomorrow? Ill be there and was thinking about stopping by the Bitter End before the game to meet some fellow fans.

I won't be able to make the game tonight, but I was planning on going next week.

What pub do you guys usually go to for Arsenal games?

I'm from Portland originally, now I'm now living in SF, so no troubles here finding the game. But I had fits last time I was up there in April trying to see the match against WHam.
Kells Irish pub seemed to be the only one who had it live.
It's on SW 2nd btwn Ash and I think Pine.

    just joshin', good luck.

saltcracka: the best pub in pdx to catch a game is the horse brass pub at 46th and belmont, where there may be about 10 supporters there, but as of last year at least they only had FSC (great beer bar though). Kells in downtown carries both Setanta and FSC, but you'll be the only person in the place. Really, you should drive 2 1/2 hours up to Seattle to the George & Dragon pub where you'll be one of 100 people cheering on the gunners, so come on up!

GFL, so whats the deal with the Portland Gunner group?

Deeplennon, I was up in Seattle(originally from there) last year and saw ManU-Pool, Arsenal-Reading, and Madrid-Barca at George and Dragon. Very sweet atmosphere.

Kell's is an good spot for a game, but like you said its kinda empty. Horse Brass pub is a bit deep for me. It would be nice if there was something better locally. Maybe FSC has updated their website.

Working on it, so far trying to find places to view games has been like trying to find a needle in a haystack. As well i agree with you that the horse brass is kinda far since i live in Beaverton. Ill keep looking...

As for you deeplennon i suggest you keep that to yourself. You may have won the cascadia cup but that is all you will be winning this season. :p

to be honest, if there was going to be 7 ot 8 people at Kell's it would be ok. I have been there two or three times for games. One time there was about 6 people there, the next time, 4 or so. They open at 7 for these games, so they must feel its a good idea. They have Setanta and FSC as well, so every game could conceivably be available.

Ya that wouldnt be bad, if we could get a regular crowd started that would be great cause its a nice central location and could be reached via the max and what not. Im down to meet here for all available games that they would show which im guessing would be anything 7 am or later?

Ya i saw no Arse on there. I kind of figured there wouldnt be since it just got announced today that it was going to be on FSC but it is still at 4 am. As well i doubt there are any replays since it just got selected for showing in such short notice before the actual game. I dont know, i will keep looking at the schedule and post here if any changes are made.

We're winning the treble this year!, just trashed Colorado 5-0, biggest beating a MLS side has -ever- taken from a USL side!! Suck it Kroenke! On to the Semis!

Too bad those pesky playoffs are going to end up keeping you from your first ever title!

Would you possibly be interested in meeting for games that are shown at Kells?

It was a hell of a result. The only thing is though is that my old high school team could probably beat the crapids in the state they are in. So sorry but im not giving much credit to your guys win. Not because i hate you guys, just because realistically the crapids are nothing more then a USL team. FC Dallas will be a much taller order.

I unfortunately wont be in town for this game. I have a wedding reception to attend to. We should still try to get as many people to go as we can.
