I will pass this performance but if we perform like this in the Emirates Cup I will go balistic.

Conclusion gents - if you lose a game in pre-season the team works harder because there's no longer a sense of invincibility among the squad. Arsene will kick their arses and hopefully they will sort themselves out.

Still can't believe we lost though!

I think he played pretty darn good, better than the few early games he did last season on the left. Commentators were praising him for helping cover the middle when RBS would counter, when he shouldn't have to be doing that with Gallas right there.

I actually thought the opposite. There were a few times late in the second half when RBS were attacking and I thought to myself, "Where is Hoyte?" Notably, on the play that led to the goal. I'll just have to watch the replay to really see what happened.

It's unfair to judge him on that though, as he's proven many times he's a much more comfortable player at right back. He's just not as good on the left.

I didn't get to see the match, but it's preseason and I really wouldn't be too worried about it. Most supporters should have expected trouble: our guys were probably going in with a friendly mentality while the Salzburg players played like it was the champions league. They didn't want to disappoint their fans on the opening day. I heard the finishing wasn't great, but it's hard to expect otherwise in a game where players are being moved in and out and no real chemistry is allowed to happen.

Tough break but I wouldn't worry about it.

Doesn't sound like I missed much in these first few games, just working off a lot of rust by the sounds of things.

I'm really looking forward to the emirates cup this weekend - big teams, should be fun games.

It was the right result. They are 3 games into their League season. They upped their game. If we get them in the C/L qualifer, it will be different. They are still working on the ground for Euro 2008, and we still welding up until a few hours before kick off! I still think it is too small for the "Euros" but a pleasant enough night there and afterwards ! "Greetings from Austria" and home tomorrow!

Don't know if anyone's interested, but I found a site that provides streams and torrent links to matches. BTW, I'm not trying to pimp the site, just thought I'd spread the word.

I didn't try the stream today, so I can't speak for it's quality, but the torrents work (if you're patient enough). Cheers

Just for the record, Bulls Arena in Salzburg now holds 31K.
