Well, now that's certainly an opinion, but I utterly disagree. The SS is the most important of the domestic trophies IMHO as it's the one reflective of truly the best qwualift team since it takes into account performance over a lot of games, not just a handful. Feel free to value the MLS Cup more (I understand that rationale) but I don't get how anyone can consider the USOC a more important trophy than the SS -- it's games by by reserves against USL teams! Winning the USOC has nothing to do with being a good team and IMHO I'm glad that a victory there gets you into zero international competitions. They got into 2 before the season, just like Houston (the winner of the other major domestic trophy in 2007). And they qualified for the third based on their performance in one of them. Either way, it was gonna be either Houston or DC in 3 competitions, so your complaint about seeing the same teams all the time should be directed at the setup, not the specific teams. Is math a strong suit? They've won twice (beat Olimpia in both games). And a more accurate statement might be that they've gone 2-1-2 with the only loss being on the road in Mexico (1-0-2 at home, 1-1 on the road). You do realize that Houston actually lost more matches in the CCC than DCU did, right? Ahh, finally the crux of the matter. It's not really that DCU doesn't deserve to be in the competions, it's that you don't want to see them there. That's fine and your entitled to your opinion. Rott against DCU if you wish, it's your choice. Just don't come on here and rant about the "unfair" process of team selection by simply citing how DCU has been in many competions. They've earned it by being successful in MLS (regular season and playoffs). Any other team could have done the same. Don't get what this has to do with anything. Not only do style points not come into play when teams are chosen, but these selections were made a while ago. Also, it's worth pointing out that the Sudamericana selection that you complain about was made in late May -- and at the time, DC had both a better record than Houston and was coming off a win against the Dynamo. So, using your criteria of "how a team looked at the time", DCU was probably the right choice at that point. We have no idea if that is true. The only reference was on a blog. It may end up true, or it may be bogus. Why don't you wait until it is actually announced to condemn the decision?
Yeah. last night and tonight. With the line out from my PC to my stereo system, its just like a normal broadcast for me.
How much stoppage is there? I didn't catch it. EDIT - Never mind. Big props to Houston tonight. First shutout of the tournament.
