Cassano performed very well under Trap with the national team, so perhaps it would be the best move for Antonio to get back on track! Personally I just don't see any big club in Italy taking their chances with this guy, or his 4.5 million Euro a year salary!

Re: The Official "Cassano-Watch" Thread I don't think Capello really needed to set Cassano straight - Real Madrid wasn't exactly dependent on Cassano; their one of the few teams that could feasibly have two or three players as good as Cassano ready to replace him, so it was a sink or swim type situation, lot like Cassano at Roma where Capello needed him. I think besides Capello, Trap (or Lippi) could really have the authority to keep him straight, it's just that it's important he's in a situation where he's needed so that the coaches have too keep on him. If he were to go to Austria, he'd be a big investment so there would be a lot of pressure on Trap to keep on him.

Sei mesi dove, nel caso il barese non su comportasse "bene", in campo e fuori, sarebbe rispedito a Madrid; in caso contrario, resterebbe a Torino sino al termine della stagione. Pazza idea. Basically it says Calderon and Cairo are friends, and Real is offering Torino a "quarterly" loan of Cassano. He goes on loan until January, and if doesn't do well on in the field or off it he's sent back to Real, or on the contrary if he does well he stays at Torino until the end of the season.

Re: The Official "Cassano-Watch" Thread http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/aug7d.html cassano might be loaned out to sampdoria for a year, where he would meet back up with ex-romanista montella, and this says real madrid may pay 3M euros to offset his wage costs. this would be interesting to see, as palombo and some others are good players, and if cassano and montella are fit, back in italy, and getting regular playing time, then might have to check out quite a few sampdoria games, like how last season they became must-see tv when quagliarella was bashing in goals from all over the pitch. we will have to see how this plays out, though. as it could be rubbish if sampdoria does qualify for the uefa cup, it would make sense to get some nice reinforcements, though.

He has two good strikers to work with in Montella and Caracciolo. Hopefully this deal goes through... and hopefully he's man enough to know that this is his last chance to make the national before euro2008 (if we make it)
Re: The Official "Cassano-Watch" Thread I also think Samp is a good place for Cassano. He'll get playing time, which is what he needs most, and he'll get the support of the Samp fans, who really haven't had exciting flair players since the days of Mancini and Vialli.

Sampdoria has everything to make Cassano the player he was, and like some one stated above; Cassano would be a perfect reinforcement for Sampdoria for their run this year. But apparently, it's just talk in the media?
Re: The Official "Cassano-Watch" Thread http://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/index.php?action=read&id=70712 newest update says Samp's director general Beppe Marotta is seriously going after Cassano and is offering Real to take him on loan with an option to buy him in 2008 for 6 million euro, and Samp would pay 1.5 million euro of his salary, with Real paying the rest. Real is seriously considering the offer because right now Samp looks like the only concrete destination for Cassano and they want him off their hands. And who knows, maybe Cassano's good friend Mancini has a deal in place with his former club and will use Samp as a proving ground for this season and if he does well wears blue and black stripes in 2008/2009.

It also says Parma made the same kind of offer as Sampdoria but with a lower salary contribution.
