Henry - Who Can Stop Me? - Video

As Barcelona's fan and Henry's fan (see other posts of mine), I'm very happy with Barcelona signing Henry.

I've made a video of Henry, playing basically with Arsenal, scoring to the most famous goalkeepers. It was too difficult for me (problems with codecs, formats, problems finding the goals, etc) but I'm proud of the video.

    Hope you enjoy it!:

Great player, great goal scorer, Maded defencers look like snails.

Greatest goals, One against man U, the cheek backheel, and the Real M in 2005-06.

A arsenal fan, and a Henry fan, good luck on the rest of your career.

I'm curious, if everyone had to pick Henry's top 3 goals, which would they be?

I think the three goals that epitomised Henry were....

    1) Against Madrid in the CL = Raw pace, raw power and the most clinical of finishing.

    2) Against Spurs at Highbury 07 on the pass from Adebayor = One of the greatest pieces of finishing that I've ever seen. The speed at which he takes his shot after having received the ball, shooting away from his body and momentum, is the pinnacle of technique IMHO. You only have to look at Robinson to realise what a great goal that was. Not in his wildest dreams did he anticipate that Henry would shoot. Most angles I've seen are from the rear view but there is an angle of the front view and from that you can tell just how great that was. At the very end of this clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1zckRcVwG0

    3) Any one of his freekicks or scorchers from outside the D. I think the one during the unbeaten season, at home at Highbury on a rainy night against ManCity, where he lets rip a bullet into the top corner. Unsaveable!

    What about you guys?

2 of my personal Henry favorites (in addition to those mentioned):
    1. Henry's flick and volley against ManUre at Highbury in 00 past Bartez
    2. Henry's cheeky backheel again Charleton at home in 04 from the edge of the 6 yard box

It appears that Arsenal wasn't the only thing Thierry Henry left this summer:

Clearly, I should read things thoroughly instead of skim reading them. My error! :)

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed he did not want star striker Thierry Henry to leave for Barcelona this summer.

The France international joined the Spanish giants last month following a successful eight-year spell with The Gunners.

Arsenal fans were disappointed to see their idol depart and Wenger has confirmed is was ultimately the French ace who decided to end his tenure in England.

Wenger believes Henry may have reached a point where he needs to win trophies and may not have been prepared to wait for Arsenal's youngsters to mature.

"Of course you don't want to lose a world-class player without having thought about it," he told the News of the World. "At the end of the day, it was his decision.

"He wanted to leave. You don't make a decision like that in a minute. You check to see if the player is really completely sure of what he wants to do.

"But Thierry Henry's decision is down to him. It's not my decision. He wanted to make the move.

"He's nearly 30. Maybe he didn't have the patience anymore to let the young team develop. You can understand that. It was a tough decision."

Meanwhile, Wenger believes Freddie Ljungberg will be an Arsenal player next season after failing to secure a summer move away from the Emirates.

The experienced Gunners boss is confident that following a failed Fiorentina switch Ljungberg will be with the North Londoners come August.

"At the moment Freddie stays," he continued. "I expect him to be here because he has not left yet and I'm 90 per cent sure he will be."

Sometimes wenger says some pretty weird things, but it seems to be the language barrier.

"I expect him to be here because he has not left yet..."

Where else would you expect him to be if he has not left yet?

Apparently Henry told his friends that the reason why he left was because of family problems, and that he really didn't want to leave Arsenal.

I posted that link a while ago ZIAD.

Anyway, more on the Henry story in today's Sun - apparently he told friends he "had to get away from everything English - including my wife"

Not from the way it seems. Looks like he cheated on her despite having a child with her. And if he left Arsenal to get away from the mess of his marriage...well he's less of a man than I thought he was.

Damn, why can't you Brits be more tolerant of open marriages? Naturally, it would be a woman that busts up such a good thing:

    [IMG] = [IMG]?

On the plus side, the number of attractive, single, English women is about to go up by about 10 percent ;)

Can we lock this thread and move on with our season. He is gone. I don't care why. He was fun to watch and helped Arsenal win some things but now he is gone and RVP and the Dudu will pick up the slack.

    Good luck to his kid.

If all the reports are true, then I hope Claire and the child get at least half of Henry's financial assets. Hopefully more. They deserve it.

This isn't bitter toward Henry directly - it's what any cheating husband should have to do if he walks out on a wife and children.

but I'm guessing there's a prenup that dictates otherwise...

I've written my praises for Henry earlier in this thread, and his performances on the pitch will always be remembered positively. But these newly revealed circumstances do have a significant impact on his overall "class" perception from the public.

In my view, this thread should NOT be locked. Not that I'm encouraging or think everyone to dump on TH14 over this... but there needs to be an outlet for fellow Gooners to voice their thoughts about it.

He's an Arsenal legend. Always will be. But at the same time, he can also be a major jack*ss when he's not on the pitch.

And I think it should be locked. We have no idea what went on. Let the kid and wife move on with their life either way. TH is going to sit on the beach and wave his arms around at everyone who does not do what he wants.
