To play for people like me that pay his salary, he has a contract with Internacional and we (Inter socios) pay a monthly fee to keep the team going and we want what we paid for. He's gonna be out of here by December, there are so many games we'll play for us before he's gone, we want our money's worth.

    Also,

They should have never had this cup in canada, we have a 20 million bucks kid playing on a damn plastic field, canada can't grow grass? then they should not have a world cup, he could have messed up his ankle or his knee there on that fake crap. if canada is ever to host a game again they better grow some real fricking grama or we won't send anybody.

The distribution from the back was awful...inaccurate long balls conceding possession and inviting Spain to attack, defending a lead can be suicidal. Brazil had a squad of individuals but no team play - the result was about right. Despite some moments of briliance it was a dull performance overall this tournament.

I don't like saying this, but they didn't deserve to go any further with this showing.

This is a team that somehow topped the South American U20 then lost to a horrible Polish team - a team that South Korea nearly beat and which the US destroyed.

I had a negative feeling for the elimination rounds the moment we lost to the United States. All respect to the Americans' efforts in soccer, but if a Brazilian side loses to an American one in any level in men's soccer, there's something wrong with us!

Screw it. All hopes for Sunday.

This u-20 team was bad since day one, we need to get rid Nelson Rodrigues the coach :)

I am pessimistic about Brasil for the next several years, maybe we can win at home in 2014, if real new talent and smart coaches show up.

Nelson rodrigues sounds like some radio show host, in fact he can be anything but he is not a football coach. The talent was there but we had no team. Strong resemblance with the main team except we have had more luck on our side. The main problem though is really Teixeira and he needs to go, but sadly i don't see that happening with the current football federations system which is nothing more then an exchange of favors on each side.

I am not that pessimistic about our players, CBF just needs good experienced coaches instead of stupid inexperienced coaches as Nelson Rodrigues and Dunga.

I was afraid about the u-20 team since the south american championship. I was thinking "i guess this win will fool us into thinking they play well". Kinda like Dunga, who really think Brazil is brilliant just because of the 6-1 over Chile and the 2-2 with Uruguay with a win on the penalties.

although I really think the major blame is on the u-20 coach (you could easily see it was not a TEAM, but a collection of individuals who didnt knew WHERE they should go, where to pass, what to do), I think there is a problem emerging with new players:

    lack of BASIC FOOTBALL TRAINING.

I mean... with players going to europe younger and younger, the younger players start playing in brazilian teams before they dominate the basics...

I wish Pato was a couple years older and more mature. he would be a perfect fit with the NT. hell he would be a perfect fit with any team.

He has it all. and only 17 wow:eek:

Just curious. WHat does he have? He is clearly talented, but I don't understand why he is so highly rated. What are his abilities? He did not stand out in this cup, and he didn't stand out in the WCC final.

However, he is very young, so he can become a top player.

He definitly stood out at the tournament and for Brasil in my opinion. He is fast, quick, strong, is selfless, makes average to above average passes and his positioning on the field is good. He is also very talented with the ball at his feet.

did you see that Messi goal yesterday? the one where he chipped the keeper? Pato did the exact same thing against the US and he barely missed. give him 2 more years and he'll make those with ease. the guy is also a beast in the air.

this game left me with such a bitter taste in my mouth. spain played better, but both of their goals were absolutely ridiculous. i'll let the second one slide, but the first one? come on. sucks to lose on two very questionable goals. brazil though was still very incompetent.

ok - so we can laugh at the Joaquins and Manuels,
but what about our own team? If this is an indication of the future, we are heading into major losses....

We need some major revamping - get rid of our cartolas!

This is no sign of the future, look at past U-20 wc winners...to suggest we have no talent coming through would be insane (not directed at you by the way)... I see a lot of talent in this team, I saw it in person in Montreal...

What I cannot see is any other nation matching this young group in individual talent. This will probably be the base team for next year's olympics (with 3 players over 23)...I think we have a great chance of winning it.

Here is how I would rate the future for some of the team members (Selecao potential in percentages):

Cassio: Could be blamed for that goal agains Spain (free kick), but should develop into a decent goalie (50%)

Amaral: I was impressed, defensively and offensively...potential Selecao material (75%)

Luizao: Nightmare, not Selecao material (0.01%)

Edson: Good showing at times...has potential to be very good (50%)

David Luis (Marinho): Best defender I've seen in a while (75%)

Marcelo: Great offensively, nightmare defensively...needs to work hard on it, otherwise forget it...maybe a move to a Left wing (offensive mid) would be better for him. (50%)

    Ji-Parana: Up and down (40%)
    Roberto: Up and down (40%)

Renato Augusto: Poor guy was lost in a disorganized team, carries Flamengo on his back a lot...I'm also a little bias on this one (60%)

William: Like this kid...fast, skilfull (70%)

Leandro Lima: Wont get any taller, but is as skilful as they come (50%)

Jo: Unless gets faster I don't see him in the selecao (30%)

Luis Adriano: got to score buddy (25%)

Pato: what can you say, the guy has insane skills, needs more consistancy and physical development...I think he will benefit a lot from Europe's physical development experts (90%)

I totally agree that eventough brazil don't win the tournament, selecao have a bright future coming off from this generation (including those who is not in the U-20 squad) like Pato, Anderson, Dinelson, Lucas and maybe William, Marcello and Cassio. I guess players like Carlos Eduardo and Renato Augusto also can developed into selecao material. And this guy from Internacional that was signed by Man Utd, Rodrigo Passembaum may be one of our future stars.

Ronaldinho, Kaka and Adriano didn't win their respective U-20 WC, but they managed to become the best footballer in the world.

If I was to pick from a squad Who I think was more focused on impressing European scouts than winning the tourney :) I'd plumb for Jo, Amaral, Lima (Zico look-a-like), William...Pato and Agusto had too much expectation to shoulder but did ok.
