News: Brasil sufrió mucho y se desahogó en los penales Los 90 minutos terminaron 2-2. Desde los doce pasos, Brasil fue más certero. More...
Can't seem to win a penalty shoot-out at the big-times, Many. Not at least since late 2001 against AUS. Must be very frustrating.
latin pride must be retarded, if u watched the game, u cant ever, ever ask such a questions, and you know what, Uruguay lost that game, Garcia missed the penalty and thats how it goes, you win some u loose some, but there are certain things you cannot overlook, refs. are human and make mistakes, I can understand a ref. missing a call, but there are certain regulations they cannot just say oh human error. There are 3 refs watching a guy kick a ball and a golie try to stop it, if the rule says u cant take more than 1 step forward and the guy takes 3, and u dont call it??????? if it was some other team, any team, u know they are making them kick again. I dont know if that was the reason we lost, again, Garcia had it blew it, he had a great game anyway but yeah, I think the refs. always favor Brazil in those situations. we still did good, we played with heart and we always complicate Brazil, hopefully next time we'll be good enough to beat them in regulation time, Im sick of penalty shootouts lol Uruguay showed last night what garra is.
Brazil had a clear penalty which was not rewarded on Love i believe and it would have made all this discussion pointless. Sure Doni took some steps foward but considering the game as a whole it was a pretty even performance by the referee. Uruguay had their chance to liquidate Brazil and they blew it so the only ones they can blame are themselves.
The guy dives, is not a foul, regardless of who that was for, Im saying those are alot tougher to call, moving action, angles, whatever, a penalty shot is different, there are 3 refs. watching, one of them has to be like, wait, the golie is not supposed to move FORWARD until after the ball is struck, he can move to the sides, so if the golie takes 3 steps forward before Lugano kicks, is a do over here, in Uruguay, Brazil and San Marino or where ever u are. And I even said that, that was not the reason we lost, like u said we f.... blew it but those things happen I guess, even Brazilians I talked to admited it., should of been a do over.
My heart is broken. It's really tough watching them come so mother trucking close, just to lose like that. The split-second before Garcia took the kick, I actually (for the first time all match) had a glimmer of hope that we could win it. It felt like deja vu all over again watching them lose on PKs . . . just like in Nov. '05 to Australia. Recoba was pulled out of the match early, the opposing team had maddeningly yellow jerseys . . . yuck. Felt way too similar. While I don't think the refs gave Uruguay a fair shake, I also can't deny the fact that Garcia could have won it. Overall, though, I do think Uruguay outplayed them. Futbol is cruel . . . . Hopefully the U-20s will redeem us tonite.
The refs never have the balls to make that call, so to expect it in this situation just isn't realistic. I'm more angry about all of the missed opportunities during the course of the game than anything else. Should have won 4-2, but we were unable to do so.
ONE mistake and Uruguay got robbed? What about the penalty that wasent called for us? It was an even game.. if aything Uruguay deserved atleast one red card for praticing kickboxing on our players but ofcourse Brasil won so it HAS to be because we got favored ofcourse
i only saw the penalty's cause i had to be away from tv for an 1 which was killing me and saw the penalty's and was shocked, same thing happend in semifinals of the libertadores between estudiantes and sao paoblo. but this was ridiculous. at least 2 meters.
Oh please, Brasil was hacking just as much as Uruguay last night. Probably one of the most physical displays by Brasil against Uruguay that I have ever seen.
been telling you forever that Oscar Ruiz is the personal referee of the brazilian national team and nobody believes me. You've got to be blind not to notice that!!! But it's our own fault because: 1) The AUF officials have no balls to block this THIEF from ever refereeing one of our games again. He has done this time and time again and nobody says anything. 2) Our team is just not good enough yet to overcome all the advantages that Brasil gets on every game and every tournament. Like it or not, the truth is the truth.
If you think this is a trolling post, you can't be any more wrong. Fight night in Toronto...and it's not even Saturday yet! Hachiko is disappointed. Excuse me while I retire to my Nueva Chicago vs. Tigres clips from YouTube. Looks like this rivalry will be up and running for a while. Elton John send help. Seriously, great game, guys, but your U-20 kids need to learn to have some damn manners, please. They're in Canada, now.
Re: If you think this is a trolling post, you can't be any more wrong. its football,if you dont like physic contact play basketball or some stupidity like that, you wont be touched there
Re: If you think this is a trolling post, you can't be any more wrong. yea, little bit of a difference between cheap shots during the game, and being a bunch of babies after you lose.
From an intelligent Uruguayan point of view, what's your opinion of the Uruguayan's reactions AFTER the match.
Re: If you think this is a trolling post, you can't be any more wrong. No, this was after the match. Totally unacceptable lack of sportsmanship by your boys.
