Uruguay seems to think this is an NFL game, they way their tackling us I'm suprised one of em hasent got a red yet
UNBELIEVABLE! I really tought it was the end of us, luckily Uruguay chocked big time! On to the final!!!!!
CBF Will you please fire Dunga Now and while you are at it Ban the shittest players I ever seen in Vagner love and Minerio.
First the game was boring. And when the penalty shootout was going on i was so angry that at some moment i wanted brazil to lose for putting up another insipid performance. If this goes on, no way are we gonna beat argentina, unless luck favors us off course.
You forgot that Doni cheated off the line BIG TIME on the last PK. Another scrappy game. Formation makes us better defensively but mediocre up top. Although ... come to think of it, before we were mediocre up top and mediocre defensively. So it's an improvement. Proves that last game was due to Chile really sucking. On to the Finals !!! Where Mexico or Argentina will spank us !!!
Doni came of the line, but that was a horribly taken kick down the middle by that Uruguay player, but who cares, we won and the Bad ass killer penalty kick by Diego, nice and smooth, that cant be stopped by no goalie
I think we could beat Mexico if they make the finals, Argentina will be a very tough one, doubt we can win that one. But I'm suprised how well Robinho kicked that penalty, I tought he was gonna blow it big time.
Luck is the only word that comes to mind. Can we only score on the run of play against a drunken team ??? We practically played with 4 volantes for most of the game and still took two very easy goals. I think Dunga seriously needs to change his mentality. This midfield is probably one of the worst in Brazil's History. I was really angry at so many easy wrong passes and players just watching the ball pass by them. Where is the garra we were promised ??
great game, almost as good as the one in 04 but not as exciting what the hell happened to us, there were intervals where we just ran at on them taking advantage of holes, then there were moments that felt like someone threw the light switch off, we shouldnt have conceided that second goal, lacks-a-dasiy defending on our part the shoot out was excellent, although i had thought that Dunga put Ferando out there because he was good at pk but obviously, that wasnt the case, although as a fan seeing uru hit the post after Ferando did was great, i yelled so loud, btw, what happened after we won the pk, what was that rumble about
wut a game ... we were going crazy at my house my heart stopped during the penalty kicks .. when uruguay missed the extra pk that could of won it for them i was celebrating like it was '02 or '04 again ON TO THE FINALS
well. this never wouldve gone to penalties if the ref had called that PK on vagner. at least that looked like a penalty, but i never saw a good replay of it. it certainly looked like a very obvious penalty in real-time, and the commentators agreed. i thought the 2-2 result was fair, and well, that light outage definitely killed our momentum because we were playing very well after the goal. i don't think we played THAT badly. our central defense and midfield looked reasonable, with the exception of mineiro. josue and alex especially stuck out to me, in a good way. our forwards sucked though. doni made some good saves, but that equalizing goal was atrocious, especially when you consider that he had done such a good job on punching out the corners. but he does make up for it with some nice saves in the PKs, including a questionable one. haha. edit: nevermind. i though gilberto silva got the yellow in the last game, but it was juan. whatever. we stand a chance against mexico, but the match-up with argentina is even more one-sided than it was in 04. their team is absolutely loaded and scary. edit: so he did really get a yellow card. i thought that -- but for some reason, the conmebol match report doesnt say that gilberto silva got a card, even though globo says he does. i guess my memory was right all along. we are even more screwed without gilberto silva.
btw, Vagner Love is still useless and well i think Minerio should be on the bench, he did play better this time, remember, it was him that made the run to get to the ball and shoot at the keeper which resulted in Maicon scoring off the rebound(btw, Maicon was great all night) although we could really use someone with better talent in Minerios place
Quick question: although Robinho was pretty much invisible in this game, I believe he might deserve to be the player of the tournament. What does everyone else think? Also, while I'm rooting for Brazil, I honestly think we'll be brutally humiliated in the final, regardless of whether it's Argentina or Mexico, but losing to Mexico wouldn't be as bad.
robinho should get the player of tourney. regardless of the final, i believe Brazil can pull it off. we are not playing the level as Argentina Or Mexico. but call it superstition or whatever, the Yellow shirt always brings it in the finals. Remember Copa America 04, and a couple of tourneys back. as to which team i want to face brazil. i say Argentina, because if the mexicans wins it would be horrible an american central nation getting The America Cup, specially because the tourney is for South American nations only.
well it's hard to say. i would prefer to lose to mexico than to argentina. at the very least, if we lose to mexico again, it means that argentina did too, and that's just fine by me. plus, even if mexico goes to the final, it guarantees that we will be playing in the confederations cup. some might say that's good. i dunno.
I knew it was gonna go to pk's I'm just glad that 2 of my other predicts came up wrong about Carini saving Robinho and Carini coming up with the big saves!! I'm praying that Mexico wins tonight, first of all for revenge for the opening game and plus Argentina's simply on a different planet than us right now!! Not only are they playing better than us but they're playing MORE ENTERTAINING than us!! It kills me that I have more fun watching Argentina play than us right now!! A Copa coach at this tourny said "It's not that u win that's important but also how u win" Damn shame that those words didn't come from our coach Dunga....but coach Coco Basile of Argentina!!
