They are both quite young. I am not sure about the exact age. Guerrero plays for Juvenil A, which probably means he is around 18. I think Benavente is 15/16. If you are really that interested, you should read some of the previous pages, and perhaps the old Castilla thread as well. I think there is a Dallas Cup thread somewhere also.
i know players only in castilla and casitlla b and few others like moreno and enzo and couple of others. since i live in america i dont get to the chance to watch too many castilla players. even though i watch all real madrid games and even during class.
I think Bojan is a born Catalan, although he's half Serbian, you can't say that he was a 'foreign import'. Anyway, we have more Spanish players in the U-21s than any other team if I remember correctly, and hopefully it stays that way.
I don't want that some "Wenger" comes and brings all the teenagers from France and Africa to Madrid. Real Madrid is spanish club and it should stay like that.
even though i am not for spain. i can appreciate the tradition and history of real madrid. the castilla team is full of spain-U21 stars and we need to promote them so that we can keep the spainish tradition alive and well. i always joked to my friends that the best team would be a real madrid team w/ only brazilians and spainards. spainards at the back and brazilians up top.
Calderon has said that De la Red will be. (and yes I know that probably means he'll be on the first bus to Zaragoza )
That's the irony of our own spelling champ, Moderator Lockjaw. You do it and he will call you out on it!
I remember having this very same complaint! EDIT: ...but I was classy enough to let him away with it. https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?p=8877744&highlight=deaux#post8877744
Yessss!!! It says here that Granero will sign on until 2012, at the orders of Schuster . Link It says that Schuster made up his mind after watching Granero play in the U-20s world cup against Brazil. I can't tell how happy I am with this. Granero has already rejected offers from West Ham, Liverpool, Bolton and Juventus who were reportedly ready to pay upto double of what he earns now. True Madridista if there ever was one
It's debatable whether that is a good or bad thing. I would rather he be higher up the pecking order at a midtable team than sitting on the bench (or the stands) for Real Madrid. I can't help thinking Soldado had a better season last year at Osasuna than he will have this season competing with Ruud, Raul, Higuain, Saviola, Robinho and even Guti, Reyes, Robben etc with a change of tactics. Schuster has requested De la Red, Soldado and now Granero join the first team, but now he must follow through with this apparent show of faith by giving them significant playing time (of course, while winning in style). If Schuster can do all these things he will be one of the greatest coaches of all time. I'm glad he got a first team contract - any of the cantera who play underage Internationals should get one (Adan, Javi Garcia..) but I'd rather they were loaned out.
But a first team contract doesn't mean he can't be loaned out. The issue here was getting his contract extended.
Exactly, it is only a sign of confidence of the club to the player. What is great. We don't know if he is going to be loaned, or if he will be in the first team the first season. Our lack of playmakers (we only have Guti) make me think that he could be first team player the next season. But if we sign a playmaker, Granero or De la Red should be loaned. At this moment we could play: 5-2-3-1 ------------Gago/De la Red--------Diarra/Emerson RW--------------------Guti/Granero-------------------LW or 4-4-2 RW----------Gago/Granero-------Diarra/Emerson-------LW Even could work: RW------------Granero/Diarra-------Gago/Emerson-----LW Becasue Granero and Gago aren't bad defending and both could play in the starting 11 at the same time.
Looking at their page on the RM website , they are 19-22. (so I'd say 18-21 at start of season) http://www.realmadrid.com/articulo/21926.htm
i see, thanks im interested in this team. how goods the league that they play in? how good is the c team? what happens id you older then 22, do you have to find another club or does the age not matter?
The 5-2-3-1 would be quite hard to pull off... Also I think Schuster said he would play a 4-4-2 with a diamond-shaped midfield. For the attacking midfield position I believe we will sign a playmaker, but if we don't do you then think Granero is good enough to play with the first team? Can he challenge Guti next season?
