Since Bayern also bought Klose, it will go through probably. I regret this.:(

I wish Makaay all the best in Holland.

Bayern spent over 60 Mio. € in transfers.

A season without the victory of the UEFA and the championship would be a real disappointment.

Personally, I think the big suprises in European competition will be Tottenham Hotspurs and Real Zaragoza.

yeah, that is what i was getting at. the only way bayern makes it in this thread, is if one wants to predict failure to win uefa cup or bundesliga, as in my minds they are favorites for both. so they can't be surprising if you predcit them to do well

    Forget about Bayern...
A German side that might surprise in Europe I think will be VfB Stuttgart. They are German champions...

Tottenham will once again suprise people and may challenge for that 4th spot and have a good run in the cup. Zaragoza might if they keep the likes of Zapater and Milito brothers.Villareal will gave gun runs in the league and europe. Arsenal will do reasonably well without Henry (It's not the end of the world:rolleyes: ).

    Watch out for Pompey.

Since Arsenal will be down, I expect another team to take their place in the top 4 in the EPL and surprise me. Spurs, Bolton, Newcastle, whomever.

    Club:
    Real Madrid
EPL: Arsenal (all the naysaying since Henry left, look what happened when Vieira left? CL Runners Up)
La Liga: Despite all the furore around Barca, perhaps Atletico will FINALLY step up? Heres (kinda) hoping :D Torres leaving may be tonic.
Serie A: Juve to come out of no where and take the title? Maybe.
Bundesliga: Bayern NOT winning the league, and choking in the UEFA Cup. Wahaha :)

Those would all be big suprises :)

I agree and was going to add VFB to the list. I think they will suprise people in the CLS next season. Losing Timo Hildebrand to Valencia did not help, but I think they will still put in some eye-opening performances. I am wishing for them to do so anyways...

    Other surprises:
EPL: Tottenham breaking the big 4, Arsenal not beeing the one, that will be trown out
BL: Werder without Klo$es, but with youngest BL squad reaching CL 5 times in a row
EE-teams surprising Europe: Donezk and Cluj staying in competitions until next year

Lucca Toni> New League. Big question mark on him.
Franck Ribéry> Overrated world cup wannabe Star (ugly btw) was average for Marseille where even Cisse looked good.
    Ze Roberto> Has Been.
Miroslav Klose> Worthless last season. Has been.
Hamit Altintop> Haha Not top class material
Jan Schlaudraff> Haha Not top class material
Marcell Jansen> Haha Not top class material
José Ernesto Sosa> Unproven talent. Ok to be fair he is class.

60 million? Haha. Seeing that the Bundesliga is utter shit you guys will still win the league easy. Cheers

I think Celtic are capable of surprising alot of people in Europe once again. Hopefully if we make the second round of the Champions League we will be given a penalty if a defender handballs in the box! ;)

Olympique Marseille will surprise a lot of people. They made a very good recruitment (B. Zenden, G. Givet and K. Ziani) and they preserve their best players (S. Nasri, D. Cissé, J. Rodriguez, and else)

Metalist Kharkiv passing Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukrainian Premier League to finish the second CL spot for Ukraine!

Now that would certainly be a big surprise...
