Not that I know of....just talking about the starters who got one in the first game. If they did get a yellow here, I believe (haven't looked up rules recently) they would be gone from the Brazil game.
no doubt about that!! congrats! and in my humble opinion, JoJo should take Adu back after that performance
Some of that, but also these are still basically kids. Not having seen it, I'm willing to bet Poland played a whole lot better beating Brazil than they played today.
Donovan and Beasley would have a 50/50 chance of blowing it (witness Beasley vs. Mexico, and while Donovan is our best field player, he also blows his fair share of easy chances just like any American striker is expected to).
Not in this game....but Szetela got a yellow against Korea (and it was falsely credited to Bradley for a short time)
Meanwhile, as for Danny Szetela... seems he really is a great player, it just took him a few days to realize he wasn't in Columbus any more.
Is it just me, or does Michael Bradley move too deliberately at times. There's no doubt he's got the mind for the game, but there are times when he just seems a bit lost out there... maybe thats a bit harsh, but he still seems out of his element at times. Overcompenasting a bit with his physical play. And Igwe seemed to have a lot of trouble getting into the flow of things.
Bradley also got a yellow. The Bradley one was a complete disgrace--he didn't touch the flopping Korean at all.
47' 3-1 Zizzo drives hard to drag 3 guys, cuts back to wide-open Adu, he nails the upper 90 TVP (Polska) calls it "fan-ta-stish". Bradley does need to learn to move the ball a bit more quickly sometimes. But he did show some intent in that regard early in the game, and that is good. Progress for him. He'll continue to get better at it, I'm sure.
That was a nice game, 9 fouls for the poles and 6 for the YoungNats....none of that 22 from Paraguay...Adu looked enthusiastic out there, did not see all of the first game against Korea, finally tracked down the TVU feed late in the 2nd half. But kudos to Rongen for starting Wallace at LB, his through ball a great ball to Szeltza. Loved Zizzo on the right, absolutely tore their backline to shreds. All around great game, nice sharing with you guy's ...now back to work for me.
Okay.. Now someone who likes doing such things can explain the situation for getting to the 2nd round.. Obviously if we beat Brazil we are through but what's the situation should we lose? Taking into account all the possible other outcomes..
anyone going to have highlights on here for us poor bastards that A. don't have ESPNU and B. were at work anyway Highlights please!
I disagree. I think Bradley's patience helped open up the game quite a bit for the US and added a very calming influence. That extra pass through the midfield tended to draw out a Polish defender opening up space behind them. Or Bradley holds onto it, waits for 1 or 2 runners and then plays a nice driven ball across the field to Zizzo. It was perfect for this game. Now against SK with the way they pressured, yes he needed to play faster. But today was perfect.
And CNBC. And the Observer. And maybe the Guardian. And some tabloids. I'm surprised he didn't launch into Brian's tirade from Family Guy when it's revealed that Peter isn't actually a genius.
Where was that creativity against South Korea? Does anyone else think we played with a bit of an arrogance? I loved it.
