Zizzo MOTM at half.... great pace and as somone mentioned before Adu's first goal was due to Zizzo's steal on a potential counter that was dangerous before he tracked his man down

Just don't watch the first half of South Korea. :) Maybe going a goal down that quickly woke them up.

    This guy doesn't think so.

Brazil looked pretty pedestrian, for Brazil, against Poland, but I think they'll win today.

Best result for the US would be a tie.

Wallace seems to have stabilized the left side.

Szetela's header was so hot, it burned his mohawk clean off.

What are the chances that Freddy lines up against Colombia? ;)

Freddy's second goal was all Zizzo. Zizzo is having a great game and was one of the better players agaisnt Korea, he might end up with a few offers after the tournament.

I have been impressed with Beltran, I thought he was going to be our weakest defender. but that was a nice cross, and it was his cross that Szetala scored on in the SK game.

That was a beautiful pass back from Zizzo. After that long run into the box, taking on three defenders, and then hit a beautifully placed pass back to Freddy.

A great 1st half performance from the US despite the early goal given up. I think Freddy and Co. answered the naysayers from this board beautifully. It really has been a great performance. Good possession, patient build up when needed, some great balls out of the back to spring Zizzo on a few runs, Adu is finding the ball and being found by his teammates (although I would like to see him make a few probing runs from deep behind the Polish lines). Altidore is doing a good job as the lone striker (I'd say the US is playing more of a 4-5-1 or 4-4-1-1, Adu is definitely not playing as a striker). It's a tough job for him today against a physical Polish defense, but he's held his own, attracted attention, gotten a few takes on goal.

The backline is holding. Wallace is much much improved over Ward. Valentin goes out injured, but honestly I think I will prefer Sarkodie in this match. While not as tactically aware as Valentin, his physicality and athletic ability will suit him more against the Polish offense. Danny Szetela and Michael Bradley are doing a great job together. Bradley brings that calming influence to the side, and Szetela is breaking up plays, making runs from deep, and actually keeping possession for a change. Beltran is also doing a great job. His distribution is much cleaner and defensively he's doing fine.

Overall, a great performance so far. Everyone has stepped up, which is great to see (including Rongen from changing out Ward). Hard to pick a man of the half as their were so many good performances. I'll have to go with Zizzo though. He's making himself a nuisance, and 2 great individual assists.

    Exactly. Then it would be:

    US 4
    POL 3
    SK 2
    BRA 1

However, I don't like playing Brazil last with their backs against the wall. A brazil victory might almost be better, especially if we extend our GD in the second half.

The defense is a bit shakey, but Wallace is locking down his side better. Zizzo, Adu, Altidore, and DSz are impressive so far. Still, it's only halftime, and the US needs to show something that the USMNT doesn't - go for the jugular. Seitz, for being big is not that confident in the air...surprising.

It does seem this U-20 team contrasts the Nats very well.

How deep will our central midfield be in 3 years?? Feilhaber, Bradley, Szetala, Clark. Sheesh.

Call of the day from the Galavision feed (regarding Zizzo's assist on the 3rd US goal):

"que excellente la jugada que Hizo Zizo!!"

Clinical finishing from Adu and great assists by Zizzzo.

Some nice goals for the highlight reels.

    The poles are shocked.

I wonder if the Ghanian soccer fed it watching this match and shaking their heads in disgust.
