Sportsnet didn't have any intention of showing the Gold Cup final (unless Canada was in it) before even the tournament started. Sportsnet only show Canada playing in this tournament. They don't broadcast non-Canadian CONCACAF games.

GolTV had the rights and showed it today, as mentionned above Sportsnet only had the rights to Canada's games.

Wrong. USSF wasn't the host, CONCACAF was. It's less money for CONCACAF, so less money for developing the sport in North America.

It's probably also not less money, because I bet they pay for the rights to show the whole tourney if they want to show any of it, and then it's up to them what they show.

actually they dont get less money at all since GOLTV had the rights...so basically its a WIN for Sportsnet as they can put that money towards other Canadian National team games such as ohh i dunno..THE WOMENS TEAM!11

Concacaf already got their money...with that ******** Warner at the helm im sure of it!

This is a thread about thanking a channel for not showing what was concacaf's most compelling and best player rivalry game ever? The soccer was top notch (from both teams).

The Ottawa Citizen had the game listed in the Sunday paper, which was obviously a mistake.

Predators won't be coming to Canada soon. Those americans bosses will always have it their way.

I assume Sportsnet only had the rights to the final if Canada made it through. GolTV had the rights here in Canada and Fox Soccer Channel had the rights for USA. Seeing as how the final beat the poop out of the NHL games, maybe a bidding war is brewing for next time round. All good for the game in North America, despite the nitwit postings to the contrary.
