I personaly dont have any cds withchants 2 upload. everytime they make them and take them 2 the game they are gone by the time i can get one...lol...I guess thats good because people learn them faster, the only thing is that there over 70 different traditional chants and many different variations each legion chants them differently. I agree that there should be simple chants the only thing is that they try and keep it some wat traditional. At the next game I will let the legion know that we need some chants 4 the stadium. One chant that i personaly would love 2 hear would be "ole.ole.ole..Chivas..chivas..- repeat" Thats a chant that i have not heard at HDC, thats 1 simple 1 that they chant in Gaudalajara's staduim, and if u play FIFA 07 u hear it in the game during game play with chivas also "CHIVAS CHIVAS CHIVAS".

If u guys wana give direct input to the legion just sign up in the official Forum in Legion website www.legionkalifas1908.com under the FORO link on the top right corner.

keep givin input, the legion is growing really fast and evolving fast too we r trying make it US's team not just LA's team

well I'm a white guy from England and I went to a Chivas game last night hoping to get into the team. Poor game, two great goals, Chivas look as if they play some nice stuff when all is clicking. Thought the atmosphere was piss poor though--no singing except for about 30 guys behind the goal; most people were barely watching the game. Very disappointing.

Yeah, no legion this time around. I think the guys behind the goal did a good job of trying to get something going.

the atmosphere last night was lacking. The legion was on a roady. Give them another shot maybe July 14th, it will be much better even though we are playing one of the weaker teams in the east.

Unfortunately I won't be able to persuade the wife to go to another game so soon! Fair enough about the atmosphere--bit unlucky about the Chivas/Korea game. Is it substantially better usually?

Yea, the game day atmosphere is ALOT better than the game you went to. The Legion usually takes up Section 120-122 behind the North Goal. We keep that place loud the whole game. Unfortunately there was a Chivas game up north and we went up there instead.

If you want to see some video on how the atmosphere is.

just type on youtube "Chivas Legion" and a bunch of stuff will come up.

We definately have to start an English-language Legion, like the "Sacred Flock" The fan base is diversifying. Personally, I love to see non-Raza (Mexicans, Mexican-Americans, Chicanos, and Latinos) wearing the Red and White.

Count me in as well.... I was checking out the Fire site and noticed that they have several supporters groups listed, with links to several of their personal websites. I grew up back east and made the piss poor decision to take French instead of Espanol. Dumb move. My seats are in 137 this season but I'd move anywhere to be part of a supporters group. Maybe I'll start a one person group, 137 Gringo!

I'm down for an English-chanting supporters section as well. I love what the Legion does (and my semi-decent Spanish is always fun to practice), but I'm more in the mold of the English fans, and there's no way I could make up any songs in Spanish, which is half the fun.

I want to make it clear though that any sort of "rival" support group isn't out to one-up the Legion. Lots of teams have multiple supporters groups and I think the more we have, the better the atmosphere. And I'd certainly be willing to yell some of the Legion cheers as well.

I am for the idea. Sometimes what is there (the Legion) isn't for everybody.

But i will say this. Two supporter groups hardly ever works. They eventually end up not getting along with problems happening.

    Examples:
    la monumental and ritual kaos
    Riot Squad and Galaxians
    el batallon and Texan Army
    la Pandilla and el 21

Small problems like Supporting style and methods will often turn into bigger problems. Just my 2cents and experience.

if they are placed at opposide sides of the field I see no issues. It would help to learn the other chants just so you can jion in wioth each other. If the Legions stays in the North you can easily put another behind or near the South goal.

Thats true. Actually I would rather be in the South Goal. ... More shade :D

I would actually like to see another supporter group. That would be pretty cool actually.

Count me in if you guys are serious. This club's fanbase is indeed diverse and will continue to grow nationwide. It's evolution as an American club continues as it attracts and establishes it's own fans apart from CDG and begins to write it own glorious traditions.

I agree with Going Mobile that Legion 2005 should be located opposite Legion 1908 to give the visiting team chants in stereo! FUERZA CHIVAS!

American Legion?? Catchy & funny but that might send the wrong message. Might work if it was a sub group that sat with the real deal Legion. But on opposite ends the pitch might as well be called the border!

I wouldn't want to be part of something that was a rival group.... the Legion is the best supporters group in the world. But there's definitely room at the HDC for additional groups. Just look around the world, a supporters group can be as simple as 4 blokes from the same town hanging a banner near their seats.

And what's up with flags / flagpoles...... is that forbidden at HDC? I see it in Toronto & Chicago.

Dude, American legion is a really bad idea! First of all, I doubt that any of us are old veterans. I have a feeling that the real American Legion may take issue with it. Secondly, the Chivas has a long standing rivalry with a team called Club "America." I wouldn't blame the Legion if they distanced themselves from anything related to the term America.

Maybe we should use legion related terms such as the Outpost, militia or even call it the Northern Alliance. We may even think about using that Red Star that the Legion uses as a sign of respect to the original Legion.

As for the location I wouldn't mind taking a location closer to the edge of the penalty area on the southeast side of the Stadium. This would allow for more time on TV and we would be closer to the on-field microphones.

    Count me in!

There seems to be enough interest, do we meet at the next home game? Maybe not a good idea to try to start anything this season but I think it would definitely be good to meet each other, see if we gel, become acquainted and continue dialogue and ideas! If anything a chance to make new friends who share a common passion.
    Where's Glyconerd?...hmmm?

Anything thing with America or American in it is out of the question. Club America is the rival of all rivals to Chivas de Guad. Vergara was asked a similar question regarding the name of his MLS side on a Spanish sports talk show here in LA and he ripped the host a new one for even asking.

We are USA and we should embrace it. Chivas de Los Angeles sounds cooler, but that's for for another thread.

    Here's my idea:

1-Pick a name. I like "Sacred Flock" because it what the nickname this team is known as in Mexico (Rebano Sagrado).
2-Meet with Legion 1908 people. These guys are awesome and deserve the respect of meeting with them and getting their blessing. We are brothers and should be formal with these guys by declaring our iintentions. Plus, they could help us get started with songs, chants and organization.
3-Meet with CUSA FO (Cue) and announce our intentions with a presentation by outling our goals, ideas, and philosophies.
4-Use the grass roots approach and go to AYSO or various local soccer "establishments" and bring tickets, sign up members, and invite players/Chiva girls.

We should probably be on the opposite side of Legion 1908. In the long term, we could so the same songs and chants. We'll sing a song after the game (i.e. Liverpool - "You'll never walk alone")

Just some random non-caffinated ideas. What do you guys think?

This is actually a really good idea. And I would like to be a part of it. And see how this goes with you guys.

Chants are easy to make. All you need is some creativity.

Supporter groups should have a name that identifies with the team as well as raises the level of the groups.

Absolutely no offense to EastLAchiva... i like the Rebano Sagrado idea. But "sacred flock" doesn't really sound good in English. And also it identifies with Chivas Guadalajara. And since this group is trying to create an independant identity. Maybe we should stray away from that connect. Not to the extreme. But stay unique.

    How about "the Empire"
An English name would be better IMO because if the chants would be mostly english. That would also be more unique for a Chivas Group. Just my 2cents.

And the reason why they don't allow us to use flags anymore is because the America supporters at last years InterClasico used them against the security staff. So they killed it for the rest of use.
