1860 can use him. Hell, we can even rent him Neuschwanstein since he seems to like castles.:D

What did Keller say in that "farewell speech" video? Kinda hard to make out.

Well, now Bochum obviously needs one... :D

Don't know whether they count among the **** teams (my brother would strongly deny that) ;)

He just started an anti-Cologne chant and let the fans do the rest.

They’re just getting him as back-up they’re going with heimeroth as the starter.

A short interview where he says that he had received offers but is looking for the "right one".

One could almost infer that he wants a 2-year deal.

Okay, tough to say Salt Lake is a significant upgrade on a place to live (and this is purely on difficultly of getting a drink, if that's still the case. beautiful place, but I don't want to live anywhere sober) but man, Bucharest?

Maybe he could move into another castle ... in Transylvania ... that way he won't have to drink ... wine.

Sorry, but I think Keller is a disingenous if he publicly states that a 500k offer from RSL is an 'embarrasment' or 'not right' or 'disrespected' etc..

It has nothing to do with respect, or love of the game, or none of that.

    Its about greed.

Keller's earned millions from his playing career. Unless he's an alcoholic, he's socked a decent amount away too.

If Keller 'needs' 1.2m to play vs. 500k, then it IS all about the money, about living a certain high life style, etc. and NOTHING about love of the game.

A choice- which is PERFECTLY ACCEPTABLE if he's calls it that way ("look, I'm high maintanence, and I have needs, etc.")

But to make or infer absurd arguments about being under-valued, or not appreciated or whatever is silly. Hopefully we don't see (m)any quotes from Keller along those lines...

Keller makes it pretty clear in the LA Soccer News article what his current criteria for accepting an offer are:

So, Claudio Reyna got the same deal in MLS as Kasey got in Bundesliga - to sit on the bench and get paid?

    Wunderbar.

Where are you getting the 500k figure from?.....everything I've seen suggests they're offering a lot less than that. (more like half that)

Sorry, but I don't think you read my post, but pre-judged it. Negative rep for that.

He can do what he wants- but if money is your sole criteria...just stick with that (publicly), and don't get into other silly arguments.

Even the market value thing Keller brought up is stupid. It is obviously NOT a rational market for soccer players around the world- the same player is worth different things in different places.

So for Keller to act like its just one market, and hence, MLS is 'undervaluing' him is stupid.

He likely will get paid (be it $250k or $500) MORE than what he is worth by MLS in almost any instance.

Somehow, I doubt seriously RSL would go to Keller with 250k as their final offer.

But Keller isn't worth 250K in MLS money. He just isn't.

He is great and I am very very surprised that other Bundesliga teams don't want him as a first teamer, but Keller's comparative advantage is really just in Europe.

I am surprised that his rep in England is so low, he can't even land a back-up gig there.

I'm in Rotterdam for 8 days and found an irish pub around
the corner which showed today's Wembley fixture (which
curiously BBC referred to as "the first Full International
    at the new Wembley")...

An hour before kickoff, some kind of World Football Report
aired on Skysports 2, and there was a very long segment
(7-10 minutes) on Keller which led off the hour broadcast.

The music was still on so I couldn't hear what was said,
but the segment closed with Kasey in jeans and a jacket,
turning his back, and walking up the BMG stadium tunnel
    for the last time.

I'd love to see Keller prove everyone wrong, and go play
for the Sounders for $1 a match, to prove his point. Every
single one of the 90's guys, whether they have made big
eurocoin or not, have done their part. All the hell holes,
3am fire alarms, coins, razors, defecation and brutality
heaped on them while very few (other than us) in this
country were paying attention has bought them all the
right to name their price and if MLfrickinS can shell for
the Golden One (who shockingly was England's best on
the night), then they can shell out for Kasey. It's not
Keller's fault that there is no Cascadia side for him to
come home to at age 38; if there were a Cascadia side,
I think the coin conversation would be moot.

That was the FIFA Football Mundial show.

I caught most of it and he basically said the club deserves better but needs to find stability before it can be a success.

He cited all the different trainers and sporting directors he's had in his two years there as a major part of the problem.

Keller is absolutely right to make as much money as he can.

Anyone who lives in a castle has pretty expensive tastes, so he needs the coin. If not now, then for his future castles.
