Should LA loan Becks out Dec-Mar?

I think, objectively speaking that two good things can happen:

1-LA offsets some of their cost for becks
2-Becks can stay sharp by not sitting on his arse for the winter (and yes he may risk injury)

    Let it fly...

    Doesn't matter. Neither will happen.

It would be absolutely idiotic for Galaxy to loan him out. Period.

No. Becks whole purpose was to come to the States and settle while promoting the game. It's had to settle when you are gone 3-4 months. Additionally, Dec.-Mar., is a prime time period for promoting the league for the upcoming season. Playing more games at his age could potentially break him down sooner thus limiting his production. I just don't like this idea one bit.

Honestly, what will he be doing from Dec-Mar? (not counting MLS preseason in mid-February)

At least from the end of MLS cup to preseason in mid February, what will he possibly be doing?

Hopefully resting and promoting the upcoming season in some capacity. He's played non-stop (not counting injury time) since the World Cup and at his age the number of games could take its toll. MLS, LA, and sponsors have paid a shit load to have him here and they have to get max value for their investment. Also, I don't necessarily believe this, but I could see people, most notably casual fans or strictly MLS fans, seeing this as a slap on the face. They might take this as Beckham saying, he's here for the marketing and money, MLS weakens his game and in order for him to keep his skills adequate and in contention for England he must spent 3-4 months on loan to an EPL side.

I think the issue of players requiring an off-season has been well covered...

well he does run a major soccer camp in LA, and it is LA so im sure he can find things to do, i bet there are plenty of celebs that would be dying to hang out with david beckham thus further promoting the league, and ya its not like he is an inexperienced soccer player i mean he is one of the most classy, professional athletes for any sport so he think he can handle himself

No way - the man will need a break, having played straight through the 05-06 La Liga season, the 06 World Cup, the 06-07 La Liga season and straight into the 2007 July to November MLS "David is Goliath" tour. Then you expect him to trot off to the Prem for another three months? Ha.

If he wants to stay sharp, have him pull a Dwight Yorke and train with a team in the lead up to the Euro qualifiers.

During an interview this weekend with Five Live from Spain, he said he signed a contract not only to play soccer, but also to be an ambassador and spokesman for MLS....... his face will be used to promote the next league season..... how does Beckham playing games in England help promote MLS in the US?

    End of this story....
