Yep. I called that number and spoke to Doug Reid who promised that I would get the discount and be in the section with the other lunatics...er, DC United supporters.
Just to confirm, I also received my tickets, and am in Section 118. I spoke to Doug as well and requested the DC United fan-section. My seats are in Row N....which is either really good news(lots of United fans) or really bad news(a mixed group once again...)
hey guys, hate to barge in on your thread, but do you guys go to everygame that DC plays out there. I will be out there for the chivas game, and was hoping to hang out with fellow dc supporters!
usually there is at least a small group. Check out the Supporters Abroad Wiki. Being that the game is a Thursday Primetime match, the group may be smaller then usual(I know it may be tough for me to go)...just take a peak at this board around the begining of August, someone(Knave or Morrissey probably) will post a contact number and section(137/138 usually for Chivas matches)...and most importanly the price.
Didn't even think to check my ticket, but I just looked again and I'm also in Section 118, Row D. Anyone know what the situation is?
I am in 118 as well. I don't think much will change but I will call said REP and tell him that we will stand in the first two rows regardless of what our tickets say.
I just left him a message. I suspect season ticket sales account for the problem here. I also suspect there'll be lots of no-shows next weekend. Here's what I think we should do: Assuming lots of empty seats: have the Galaxy put word out to the ushers and security to let any stray DC United fans stand with the rest of the group. If we can move closer to the field we will, but I think the main thing is to make sure we're all seated together.
Left a message. I reminded him that we were all supposed to be in the first few rows of 116, but we ended up all over 118. I also relayed to him that if we were not switched around then we would all congregate together where we could so that we could all be together as was the initial idea. I am waiting with baited breath to see if he gets back to me. Everyone that ordered - please call him 310.630.2226 and basically say the same thing. james
I think what happened is that he put us all on the end of a row in 118...so if you ordered first your in the front, 2nd is 2nd row, and so forth. I know I have seats 1-3 in Row N, Row P should be right be 2 rows behind me(or right behind, some places don't have a row O).
I think what happened is he did the bare minimum and handed us off to an intern (as they seemed to have cut back on competent employees to make more room in the budget for Golden Balls) who bungled the order. I made the (in hindsight) mistake of ordering tickets for the Thursday Gold Cup match and got tickets for Saturday. Fun. james
He's probably not there today. So Monday. There won't be any resolution except in a day of game ad-hoc fashion. When you buy the tickets just make sure you're in the general vicinity of the rest of us - ie make sure he knows you're part of our group.
or Tuesday, seeing how Monday is a holiday. make sure you get the discount(face value of tickets is 50, you'll pay 36 I think). I called on a Sunday left a message, and Doug called promptly Monday mornnin, so if you call today(sunday) he should call Tuesday. See you all on Saturday, Vamos United!
