While fitness may be an issue, his injury at Watford was due to a teammate not looking where he was going and elbowing Owen in the face.

No Owen? (I realise that you're an Everton supporter but you've included Crouch so why not Owen?)

Bo Jackson injured his hip, not his knee.

Well when your at #10 your scraping the bottom the barrel anyway might as well give some love. Zamora's goal scoring record does easily put him in the top 10 though, no matter how poor he looks the rest of the match.

24 goals in 99 league games over the past 3 seasons puts him nowhere near the top 10. As a comparison, Emile Heskey has 23 goals in 98 games over the same period and no-one would seriously put Heskey in any such list.

Regardless of his height, he's still a quality striker. You yourself put him 5th on your list, so I don't understand the sarcasm?

How about his 11 goals this season? Only Bent and Rooney scored more.

    Rooney 14
    Bent 13
    Zamora 11
    Frank Lampard 11
    Andy Johnson 11

One swallow doesn't make a summer. Remember the people calling for Marlon Harewood last season? His overall goal-scoring record since leaving Brighton is anything but international class.

Please pay attention, nobody said anything about putting Zamora in the England squad or international class, thank god. You could put any number of shit strikers at #10 in your list, so you mighty as well put one that scored some goals in the prem. Its not my fault England have shit depth at striker.

Rooney, A fit Owen, Crouch, Bent, Defoe, Johnson, a fit Dean Ashton and future prospects like James Vaughan, Moore and maybe Young would be a good strike force.

I wouldnt like to see the likes of average strikers like Beattie, Heskey, Zamora or Harewood in an England shirt.

England will need another striker or 2 to go with Rooney if they hope to go far at Euro 2008.

They'll be in perfect shape by then. The manager will have seen enough of Owen to see if he's still got it. Rooney will be a sure thing. Bent, Defoe, Vaughn, Nugent will all move on to bigger clubs and will develop.
