In my opinion though many may disagree, Manchester United have lots of quality players, some over-rated and some under-rated. Overall we have many under-rated players IMO. I have rated the players who i believe are U-R & O-R, these are my opinions so express your disagreement if neccesary.Fletcher: Has played an important role in United's midfield, he has reasonably good passing ability, however can become a little eccentric with his passing and mobility. Overall, could be a great player for us in the future when Scholesy moves on. Has got good potential, a major player for Scotland and has got full backing from his native-man, Sir Alex. IMO UNDER-RATEDCarrick: Since his move from Tottenham, hasn't reached his full potential but has scored in some important games, like Fletcher. The reason his move was such an extravagant one was because of his long-distance passing and great vision, (Showing this throughout his Spurs career). Isn't as good as Scholes at the attribute we bought him for, but then again not many people are. I believe he lacks defensive quality, and isnt as good as he seems for United, but its early days.IMO OVER-RATEDThey where just an example of what i think, and also to give people a basic guide-line on how to write on this topic.
Underated, Overated? It depends on who's doing the rating. It's questionable how everyone's rates people because I hear a lot of people saying different things. Scholes I think is Man United's most underated player from people who live in mainland Europe. Whereas Fletcher definetely comes in for some criticism from hearing people's view's in England. He definetely adds a lot to the team when he's in the team. Manchester United Underated: Fletcher Overated: Rooney Everton Underated: Carsley Overated: McFadden Liverpool Underated: Riise Overated: Pennant Chelsea Underated: Makelele Overated: Shevchenko Arsenal Underated: Adebayor Overated: Baptista Tottenham Underated: Jenas Overated: Defoe
Not that anyone's interested but: Twente Underrated: Robbie Wielaert Overrated: Aisatti (but I'm only saying that because in my view his fellow midfielders have been even better than him this season)
Of course, depending on who you ask, these can be completely wrong. Club: Underrated:Bridge Overrated:ACole Underrated:Crespo(he's still on our books) Overratedrogba(to an extent by some) Country: Underrated:Ching, Bocanegra, Demerit, Convey tweeners:Howard, Mapp, Bradley, Feilhaber, Clark, Twellman, Bornstein Overratedonovan, Onyewu, Dempsey, Beasley Eddie Johnson has gone from completely overrated to underrated in my opinion, USA fans expect too much from there forwards, who get for the most part subpar service.
I have a queston about Smith, and it's an honest not to start shit question. Does he ever get a run out at striker anymore or is it always a midfielder(and I know United werent the first to try him there)? If so, why has he not left yet. He was a decent enough striker before his move. Then again I cant really remember much of about him from Leeds.
Yeah, in some minor games such as against Roma. Those tiny injuries of his may be the reason for him not playing for so long.
He hasn't really started yet, he has had injuries (broke his leg) and when Scholes was out, he played in the center midfield as his *replacement*, but he complained about it being to strenous and now he's palying in his suited role at front, where he bagged lots of goals.
Yes, for Leeds United he scored Leed's last ever goal against Man Utd too. Why would Man Utd buy him if he didnt score a lot of goals. He scored about 20 a season in his prime for Leeds.
no one in valencia is over rated. but robhinio damm how much i hate this dumb loser. the must over rated player in the world. such a shit i dident sew in my life. the most under rated player. guty. amezing playmaker. but he dont get many attention from the media
Alan Smith's league record at Leeds 1998/99 - 22 games 7 goals 1999/00 - 25 games 4 goals 2000/01 - 33 games 11 goals 2001/02 - 23 games 4 goals 2002/03 - 33 games 3 goals 2003/04 - 35 games 9 goals He scored 7 CL goals in 2000/01 so with cup goals he may have had 20 total, but I can't say for sure.
18 goals in 00/01 was his best return. Joint first for goals scored this season at Man Utd with 23 goals in all competitions and joint first for assists in the Premiership. All of that despite having a poor season. I wish all of our players were as overrated as Rooney. After 00/01 he was mainly used in midfield for Leeds. When he first joined Man Utd we had an injury crisis upfront and Smith spent most of his time in that position and did well. Then he was used in a few positions as a sub before his spell in central midfield to fill the Keane void. Since he returned from injury he has been used as a striker and Ferguson confirmed that he would be considered in that position first and foremost. A few weeks later and he was seen in midfield. He is a good option to have but he does not have the overall quality to be a starter in any position at Man Utd. Versatility is his middle name, unfortunately. His best position is behind a striker and we are stacked in that area. He will move on at some stage and has been linked with numerous clubs but it all depends on the timing and the money.
Juventus Underrated: Bojinov, Paro and Camoranesi Overrated: As great as he is, Del Piero is overrated to some extent
Finnan might be the most underrated RB in Europe. He has been one of the top fullbacks in Europe for some three years now but never gets his due.
IMHO opinion I think Del Piero is vastly underrated. Juve's all-time leading goal scorer, inspiring captain who has won countless trophies, and yet has never won a FIFA World Player Award or a Balon D'Or. Del Piero is brilliant. Del Piero is Juve.
As a defender maybe so@ puyol...but right now it's like he is the only one giving 100% effort for 90minutes.
Real Madrid Underrated: Guti (to an extent, specially abroad), Beckham - yes, David Beckham is underrated simply because a large segment of the press decided he was just a pretty face on day one and haven't budged since. Overrated: Raul (duh), Cannavaro (the world ought to know how sh1te his season has been).
