Paulinho McLaren wasn't wearing pants at the allstar game?

    ...

Oh, nevermind. Thought it would be odd he was there in the first place.

    is GONE
This year's logo looks like a Christmas tree ornament. red and green? blech. i liked the previous few years' logos, the cool blue colors and gray go together much better.

    Pepsi logo in ball

I dunno, odd colors, but at least they tried to explain them with the release of the logo. I otherwise like the logo except maybe for the jester like tips on the soccer ball star.

I'm not sure what to think about the shadow pepsi logo in the soccer ball. Kinda subliminal. Odd, especially considering that there's a normal pepsi logo in the ASG logo. Didn't notice it at first. Anything else hidden in there? (yeah, asking that question is just looking for trouble with this group :) )

    Not an Italian team...

An Italian team? Do you think they'd understand the concept of an all-star game? Or would the highlights be a collection of professional fouls in midfield? :)

    Check out this post...

    https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/report.php?s=&postid=996580

It quotes a source at Blackburn stating they'll be in the states for 10 days and that there's another high profile opponent (besides DC United) that they'll be playing.

Could be that they are the ASG opponent.

Another thought: It might not be a club that has had previous plans to be in North America.

Didn't Bayern Munich just cancel an Asian pre-season trip recently? Wouldn't it be nice to see if we can get a goal on Kahn?

Also, last year was MLS-USA. USA is outfitted by Nike. So the AS's were outfitted by adidas. So it might make sense to invert those choices this season. Bayern being an adidas equiped team.

If you using equipment supplier, I would think Puma would want to make a splash. And as the dimple project showed, there's a Rome based Italian team that might be available.

Blackburn's a quality team, and playing them would be better than the East v. West format, but I really hope it's somebody that has more prestige.

Wow! You _seriously_ looked that logo over. :)

How on earth did you notice that?

Doesn't bug me. At this point Pepsi can force each starting player to down a can of their favorite Pepsi product right before the game. Keep the dollars coming.

It's going to be AC Milan. Stop the speculation.
