Ya, I do agree with you that Fabianski seems like a good buy. Pretty good handling and seems to like to shout at his defenders alot which IS a good thing.

Probably neither as i think it will be Almunia who goes. Poom has seemed happyish with his sole appearance or whatever it is he has played for us. So i assume he'll stay 3rd choice. Fabianski(?) will then be second choice behind Jens. Almunia will be fed up we hav signed a new GK and will jump ship. Then Jens will leave at the end of the season, Fab will become number 1 and a new number 2 will be signed.

    I think?

In reply to Rungostar's post on Fabianski

Yes - i have seen play....
    from what I have gathered
extremely athletic, nize size, imposing presence in the box, decisive, plays well with feet, calm, great first instict, and most of all - has youth - 22 y.o. (has been first team football for two years now and has been the best GK in the Polish league for the last two years)
his weaknesses are - needs to improve on holding on to the ball when intercepting passes from corners, better communication with defenders, and distribution on counter-attacks

i think those weaknesses can be erased with more experience

as far as Fabianski becoming Poland's No. 1
not sure this will happen soon considering the wealth of talented GK at the position
here is the current depth chart
    Boruc (25 yrs - Celtic) is #1
    Kowalewski (28 yrs)(Spartak) is #2
    Kuszczak (24yrs)(Manure) #3

and I stick by my original position that Almunnia sucks....replacing him with a mannequin would be an upgrade as far as I am concerned

I'm pretty excited about this signing. It could be because this is our first and maybe only signing of the summer. haha! Naw, kid looks good and I'm sure than Jens will make him that much better!

Just caught a little bit of the Monaco game on my lunch break, and watched just enough to see Yaya Toure get a red card for a terrible challenge. :)

Some people's perceptions of Almunia's ablity is just totally off imo - where do you guys get the idea that he is totally useless?

It's because he's unsettled and disgruntled and will only be happy and on form again when he plays for Arsenal! ;)

And so it begins again... which blog will pick it up first!

I don't think he's really impressed when he has been given time. I think he's a good #2, but I don't want him between the sticks for a title run.

Fair enough, and I wouldn't feel confident about a situation like that either - but comparing him to a manequin?

I wasn't talking about Daniel. Alfonso Alves is rumoured to be at the 20 million euro price tag. Heerenveen already rejected 14 million from Marseille.

So does Fabianski count as one of Wenger's super signings?

I'm guessing that this is the new transfer thread or am I oblivous to where the other one is located. Mod's you can move it to wherever if you need to.

Anyway, I found this: What do you think of Lori Cana, I am of the information that he is definitely be one of Wenger's signings. Again Bobby, Amy Lawrence on a talk show said that Wenger has been given $100m pounds as part of 80m pound transfer budget they agreed on with the creditors up to 2009 and she sees certain that Eto’o is on the cards. Personally l feel Eto’o and Henry are mutually exclusive in the same team, even if Wenger has this amount of money do you see him coming to Arsenal. I saw this on foxsoccer.com under Bobby McMahon's blog. Some guy asked him that question.

Has anyone heard of this guy? Here is his information. http://home.skysports.com/player.aspx?plid=16106&clid=144&cpid=24

Also, if that money figure is true, then Wenger better buy big!!!!

lets doubles Barca's offer, give them 54 euros for Eto'o and we'll still have 19,999,946 to spare.

how many years is it going to take for you all to get it?

we arent going to sign samuel eto'o.
we arent going to sign ANY bignamed player.

    we never have, never will.

I'm not thick. I saw it on another site, so I thought that I would bring it here to see if anybody knew anything about it! You are wrong about a couple of things though. We MIGHT and it's a big might, get Eto'o, we MIGHT sign A big named player, and you are right we DON'T have a 100 million.

I would consider Gallas, and even Rosicky, big name players.

gallas came in a completely weird scenario where he wanted out, and the team he was playing for wanted our player, who wanted out.

rosicky was a very small seven million quid purchase.
hell, samaras at citeh cost more.
