Let's be clear...I remember it like it was only 7 years ago. I believe my exact words were...

    "The San Jose goal...
...the first goal in MLS history...
    ...scored by #11 ERIC WYNALDA"

I could go back to the videotape to verify...but that would take time.

And, by the way...a nice six-pack of Hahn Premium Lager (imported from Australia...$6.99 at Trader Joe's) will suffice, thank you.

*yawn* Why am I awake this early? I wanted to sleep in. Oh well!

I'm trying to wake up. Maybe some randomness will help. Not sure how coherent this is gonna be, but it's just jibberish anyway.

Had fun at the scrimmage yesterday. Was great to see all those players in such a small setting.

Now I can't wait for the game on Monday. Well, I couldn't wait anyway. But now I'm even more excited.

Hott Toddy looked really good yesterday! He's just so awesome!

It was also cool to see Chris play. And score two goals!!! Rock on!

And.... regardless of what went on here on these boards, it was awesome to see Joey! He was a huge part of the heart of this team (on and off the field) for a long time. So I welcomed him home and told him we missed him. And he gave me a kiss on the cheek!! Awww.... He's turning into a real French gentleman. :p

The spitter is here. Little punk!

I still can't handle Mikey not being on the Metrostars. It's just wrong! Wrong, wrong, wrong!

Alecko looks like Claudio. It's kinda creepy!

Ryan Suarez and CJ Brown are here! Go SJSU!! Woo hoo!

Eddie Lewis is here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm excited! He rocks!!!

There were a bunch of people speaking French at the game yesterday. It's a beautiful language.

Yesterday I sold some books to a used bookstore. And then turned around and spent more money than I made on language books. French, German, and Italian.

I really want to learn four other languages before I die. French, German, Italian, and Spanish. Maybe not perfectly. But I want to be able to have a basic conversation in any of those languages.

I took 8 years of Spanish classes. And I can't speak it to save my life. Funny thing is, I can understand most of it. Or at least piece things together. But I can't respond in Spanish. So I could have a full (basic) conversation with someone if they speak Spanish and I respond in English. But...yeah, that's kinda weird.

It's hard to keep up language skills if you don't have someone to talk with using the language.

Hmm... I think I'm waking up now.

I'm still waiting for an explanation of who the hell sj_quake_fan thinks they are. Seriously. The only thing I did see was that they are an Ultra. Fishin figures! So.... Care to explain yourself?

And on that note, I'm outtie....

    Tschüs!

I'm with you on that. I took Spanish five years (8th-12th grades), and still never learned to actually "think" in the language. It takes me at least 20 minutes of watching Spanish language TV to "groove in" so to speak, and stop translating everything in my head. I can read it and write it at a near fluent level, but cannot think fast enough (usually) to speak it as fast as Spanish speakers are wont to do.
Ha. A few of us noticed that a while ago (early this month; I think this was the "new" sjqf's first post, about halfway down the page) and were awaiting your comments. :)

Yeah, I saw that after I did a search on this poster's posts.

But.... There is no "new" sjqf. There is only ONE sjqf - ME!! :p

I can fall right into understanding spoken Dutch, I can read it like nobody's business and yet I would not be able to respond in any way if my life depended on it.

After two years of French I'm still really lost. I can understand every few words and read it very well but speaking it is another story.

    So how have yall been?

I've been over in FFA's Random Thoughts. Lovely bunch over there. Got so busy with school that I didn't have enough time or energy to think about MLS at all so I'm VERY behind right now. Ajax took priority over the Quakes b/c they're my first love.

    We haven't lost yet, correct?

I guess I should go check the schedule and see what's going on. Jim says I need to read the morning news more often. By the time I wake up it's afternoon and the news is no longer morning.

    I hate Memorial Day.

I've got a renewed caffiene addiction as well. I didn't have any for 5 days and then broke down and had 3 cups of coffee yesterday. (Dutch Chocolate Almond is very good stuff.)

So many new guys on the team it seems.

I've been trying to cut back on my caffeine. I think I lasted about 6 days without it. Then I just broke down and started drink caffeinated coffee again. Never had withdrawal symptoms or anything. So I think I'm okay.

Yes, lots of new guys on the team. Some of the new guys are looking really, really great this season. You HAVE to catch up on the news. It's been a great season!

I had a headache and the caffiene was the only thing that would fix it. Coffee and a banana.

    I think it's been great b/c I wasn't here to jinx it. :)

Chicago next weekend. On tv too. It's the perfect time for me to catch back up!

    Holy heck!

Where the fish is my head at?

I posted in the wrong thread all day! I'm the BIGGEST dork!

I meant to post my little game ramble here. Cuz like, yeah...it had nothing to do with the game.

And then I posted another random thing in the game thread this morning.

Where the fish is my head at?

Why didn't anyone tell me to shut up? Or go away? Or something!!!

I'm embarrassed now. Let me tell ya!

Any of you mods can just delete all that crap in the game thread and I'd be perfectly happy! Or move it or whatever!

But, like, yeah.... PLEASE just get rid of that crap!

Hold on, gotta scroll up and make sure I'm in the right thread!

    Phew! It says random jibberish!

OMG! I really am embarrassed! I swear I thought I was posting here.

    Where's my head at?!!!

    I need some sleep!

I have a million things to do. But I've just not been getting enough sleep! So fish it! I'm going to sleep!

*scrolls back up to check if this is the right thread*

    'night!

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Anyone here play Rise of Nations? If so, what do you think of it? :)

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Also, which of the 18 different nations in the game would you prefer to play as... and why?

    &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp GO EARTHQUAKES!!!

    -G

P.S. = Does Rise of Nations sort of remind you of the boardgame History of the World (just curious)?

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Also, there was a pretty nice article about Rise of Nations in the Saturday, 5/24/03 edition of the San Jose Mercury News. :)

    &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp GO EARTHQUAKES!!!

My highschool soccer team has officially made it to the state quarterfinals, first time ever!

I made the wining goal in the thrid overtime, i ripped off my shirt, it was great!

I graduate tonight (9pm), then project graduation till
    4am, and work at 8:30am.

I like Jack Johnson, i think he's worthy enough to buy his cd, instead of burning it.

Well, i hope everyone else's week has been as fun as mine.

I think a gallon of tea is enough for one day. How about you? That equals out to about 1 pound of sugar.

    So bored again.

Waiting for someone to get home so I can call them.

I have a date sometime soon. Smart, funny, hot, and a swimmer. :)

Beach Saturday until the game? Hmmm...

I think a good bottle of Australian chardonnay is enough for one day. How about you?
