I agree that it wouldn't be the size of the stadium that brings in more fans, but I think it would be the location. The Coliseum is a LOT more accessible to central/East LA, where a lot of potential Chivas USA fans live.

talk about revitalizing an area. They should go to an area that's heavily Mexicano and set up shop. But not do it half crap, I mean go all out. That will affect the local economy in various ways: more tax dollars for local schools, more porgrams for kids, etc... that's what a real 'club' is intended to do.

If they are going to build a stadium they should do one like Portsmouth's new one. Has anyone seen the pictures yet it is world class.

FWIW, Standard Liege is averaging 22,414 this season. No teams in the Jupiler league average over 25,000 (Club Brugge KV 24,887) Only 4 teams average over 20,000. The number 5 team, RSP de Charleroi, averages 11,432. No one else is above 9,000 (KAA Gent 8,880). Nine teams average less than 7,000. The lowest average is 4,931 by RAEC Mons. League average is 10,390.

Sam Allerdyce is leaving Bolton and this article raise the question of a move to MLS. I actually think his football philosophy would translate well in MLS.

WTF no way would we get Sam Allardyce he's either staying at Bolton, retiring, or becoming England manager.

Yeah he is too good at this point to come in to the MLS. Maybe he'd be the next US boss?

I've tried and tried to figure out exactly what style Big Sam has because it seems Bolton plays up or down a level depending on the opponent. It's not exactly an attractive style but it is effective. I will say though, that Big Sam, has a very diverse team, representing 13 or 14 different nations and it is amazing that he can blend those folks together successfully. I think that aspect alone could be a benefit if he were to become an international manager. Whether USSF would be interested or vice versa, is anyones guess but I would not be opposed to it.

How would that help him be an international manager? He would be managing players all from the same nation. :D

Bolton is a throw back team. Very physical and very direct. They can be rather boring to watch one week and exciting the next. I think the Nats need a coach that would stress playing the ball to feet and buildup through the midfield.

BTW it's reported the Big Sam stepped down this morning effective immediately.

I always liked his game, but I'm not sure I would want him on my team (if these quotes can be believed).

"PSV Eindhoven midfielder Philip Cocu fits those requirements and he says that he is open to an MLS “adventure”. He’s also quick to point out: “As long as I can play at the top level, it would be a sin to play in MLS, Saudi Arabia or Japan.”

I think the point is that he's not managing an English team that has a few foreigners on it. Instead, it's somewhat like Liverpool or Arsenal in that they're more Spanish or French than English. So Big Sam has pretty much shown that he can adapt to different cultures and create an atmosphere were a range of different nationalities feel at home.

That said, that doesn't mean he'd be interested or that he'd be a good fit for the USMNT.

What's Patrick Viera up to these days (6'4", ba dum bum ching!)?

Seriously, he is a beast of a player and is still capable of doing some damage in MLS.

Maybe the Revs could sale Joseph and get Patrick Viera, or Checkett would sign him for RSL. Those teams really need midfield organizer and brute enforcer that has creative play. But MLS has too many dumbass rules for smaller teams might screw up Viera signing.

First of all, your sentence doesn't even make sense. Secondly, each team has a DP spot to use at their own discretion if they wanted to sign someone like this. It would be up to the team owners (and GM/coach), NOT MLS.

First of all, you seem kinda nosey. Second, what's your point? Third, do you think The Hunt Group ( Lamar dead ) and Kraft are actually going to use them?

Here's where I am heading: Wizards next year going to have Johnson as DP. Adu with RSL etc...These dumbass rules I was talking about. Red Bulls is paying Schoop close a million, but he's not consider DP, just SI. I got no problem with Schoop getting paid that, but I do have a problem with Johnson, Donovan and Adu being DP for next season, especially when the league was headind direction, suddenly, they do "dumbass" move for next year.

Revs should sale Joseph and get second DP. I know the Revs won't use it, but they could trade the second DP with Chivas, Red Bulls or Galaxy for it. Also, MLS should increase the salary cap sightly with every player being transfer.

Well, they kind of do.....in a roundabout way. The team that losses the player recieves an allocation the value of which is tied to the transfer fee. So, if Shalrie is sold for $2 million, then the Revs recieve an allocation of about $400k to use to expand their salary cap or to buy a replacement player.

I know you have heard it before but I heard it again in fox football fone-in that zidane is very likely to come over. This rumor is continuing to grow. I think it will become reality. One of the host sounded pretty confident. The deal supposed to be for only one year and he is signing with LAGals.

How do you propose the Galaxy get ahold of another DP slot? Trade Joe Cannon back to Colorado? Trade Joe Cannon to RSL? Who else on that team is worth a DP slot besides Landon?
