He refrenced the recent interview that Wynalda gave, where Wynalda said something along the lines of saying he would tell Jim Rome to suck his dick. He got suspended for it and it is the reason why he didn't commentate the first game of the season.

He said that he'd beat the crap out of him. Which... frankly... wouldn't be the first time that happened.

Jim Rome is a twerp with a village people goatee who you can tell got shoved into alot of lockers as a kid.

Allen Hopkins told Martin that Wynalda was gonna challenge him to a kicking contest some time in Dallas and Martin said something like thats great then said "I've got somehting for Eric, tell him I said thanks for sticking up for soccer, he'll know what i mean"

Basically that. Then the interview ended :D

Well, right after that interview with Gramatica Wynalda said he could kick in the NFL, but that he wouldn't kick for Dallas. So:

    1. What does Wynalda have against Dallas?

    2. Is Wynalda thinking about really trying out for an NFL team?

    1. thinkin he was just ripping the 'Boys quality

    2. doubt it

but, I remember Tony Meola having a "tryout" with the Jets pre-MLS

David James also joined in at a Dolphins camp, for PR purposes

Oh Geez, You guys so hard up to post that you have to start a thread on some innocuous words spewed by Grammatica? I saw the interview and it was fairly ordinary stuff said by a soccer loving NFL athlete, of which there are quite a few. Yet you guys turn it into an announcement of major proportions.

I actually had the honor of meeting Martin, right before the 2006 WC, here in Tampa. We spoke for a good 20-25 minutes about Soccer. He's a huge Argentina, Boca Juniors, and USA supporter. Class Guy! I really enjoyed talking to him. I loved his comment this evening.

  23. Come on, you got to admit it was priceless hearing the silence in the booth after he said that because they were all afraid to reference the incident.
