Bradley scored another goal last night for the Heerenveen reserve team. I reserve teams in Holland play every week and also consists of first team players who need minutes. One thing is sure, the 32 game reserve schedule in Holland is far superior to the 12 game schedule offered by the MLS.

That may have been true at the beginning of the season, but it was not true by the end.

Wrong. Bradley is not a quality player unworthy of senior national team, U-20 national team, MLS, Dutch or Dutch reserve minutes. He is only in Europe because of BB and the massive amount of sway he holds in the Netherlands. I believe that BB pays other reserve teams to allow goals in by him. I seethe with anger at the very notion that a top coach in our country could potentially have reared a quality player in the game who developed well.

Agreed. As 17 year old, in MLS, Ward was the far more poised and effective player. But it's a wait-and-see for them both (I believe Bob hiSSelf started Ward before he started his own son if that says anything). They are both young, under 20 I think both. I am a bit more skeptical than the orgasmitron on Bradley Jr. as this board seems to have because as I said, there was a marked level of class between the two. But maybe Europe is magic dust and makes you a great player by the act of signing and playing nominal minutes.

    I hope not. :)

Since most of us have not been able to see much of his first team minutes or his reserve minutes, the best we can go off of is his playing time during the two friendlies recently. I thought he certainly showed int those games that he has some international quality in him. He needs to develop more, but he showed more than just potential---he executed well for the most part.

I am not smart enough to know if 30 games in MLS is better for Mikey than 20 apps/800 first team minutes, 4 UEFA apps and a load of Jong H'veen games but I can't see as either is going to kill a 19 year old's career. If he's still getting subbed at 80 in two years, then I'll consider freaking out.

Right now H'veen just has to beat the North Belgians and lock down some Euro play. After that we give Bosvelt a watch and worry about Bradley.

    Correct: 19 is not 22.

  10. I must stop trying to do three things at the same time, because I made Johnson a Heracles player what should be "De Graafschap". I should realize I'm not a woman:D

I think it's great what he's doing, but it doesn't warrant a starting spot on the senior national team.

I know. But what good is having your Dad as coach if you can't get called up even though you're totally outclassed and have no reason playing.

It's not like he's lighting it up for HSVII or something.

You know, if you move your fingers along the string, you can get more than one note.

And there's a whole new game thread you go play your concerto on. Oh, and you need to add 22 minutes and another appearance to your stats.

How about, if Michael Bradley can play well as a starter on the National team, then he should be a starter on the National team?

Plus, this is just the beginning of the 2010 cycle, we're trying out some of our young guys, whether they're the interim coach's son or not.
