Good luck today, Milan. Oddly enough I think that our being thrashed 7-1 helps your cause. For one, it's surrounded Manchester United with huge expectations and they will be feeling the pressure to repeat that performance. And of course I don't think MUFC can repeat it. For one, their defense is in tatters and for another Milan's backline, with Nesta, Jankulovski, Maldini, and yes Dida, should fare far better than Roma's, with all due respect to Chivu and co. One thing I've always noticed - Panucci is a very fragile player mentally. He's had numerous breakdowns in big games and the one vs. Man U just called to mind others I can remember - he was awful vs. South Korea at the 2002 World Cup and also back when he was at Madrid in big matches. I think that players like Nesta, Maldini, and Jankulovski will know how to handle themselves today - at the very least they won't break down as we did. My only worry for you is on offense. To be honest, I don't see Gilardino scoring, and there's going to be a ton of pressure on Kaka to take this game by the scruff of its neck. It might come down to the likes of Pirlo or Seedorf popping in with a goal - and an away goal would be huge ahead of the San Siro 2nd leg - but it's a real blow that Ronaldo and Inzaghi can't start together today ....
I'm sooooo nervous about this match. If Milan can get a draw, that would be great. I think the Rossoneri's experience will be HUGE in this match up. Good luck! I hope AC Milan utterly destroy the Mancs.
gonna catch the replay at 5 ET, so i gotta stay off the boards til after the game. hopefully it turns out well, forza milan
Good Luck! don't let an all english final happen!! feel sick just to think about that, ok hope you win tonight just like against us
The mistake wasn't so much the punch as it was letting the Ronaldo header bounce off what looked like his chest and behind him.
He shouldn't even have been off his line, he started running for the ball almost as it had landed on Ronaldo, who by the way didn't get the goal, its been announced as own goal, which makes things a little better.
It's not an own goal if you look at the replay - it's just a bad play on Dida's part. He didn't clear it, in fact I don't think he even toucehd it. Ronaldo should be awarded the goal.
